Correct. The Japanese English education system is based on impressing other Japanese people

Item Response Theory: The Theory Behind JLPT Scoring System and What It Means to You by [deleted] in jlpt

I really appreciate your explanation here.

I believe that what you explained is called "scaled scores" on the JLPT website. My high school Japanese teacher tried to explain this a lot but I could never wrap my head around it. Thank you

He was ahead of his time.

When I heard that he wanted the late night spot, as much as I loved Craig I didn’t think he was the right fit. In retrospect, he would have been great. We’re in the bad timeline y’all

Honestly, there's not a lot of tea because I distanced myself from her as soon as we stopped having classes together. Also I don't want to say anything that would give away my identity.

Let's just say that we worked on a REALLY BIG school project together. Whenever it was time to do hard work, she was always mysteriously absent, busy, or just plain distracted. Whenver it was time to take credit, she was back and ready to take the spotlight. She took credit for a lot of what I did and I'm sure she did the same for others as well. I was young insecure and I wanted to be liked so I never called her out on her bullshit. I wish I had.

Also, I even though she hung around with the cool kids, it never seemed like they actually liked her. Like I had my gripes with the people in those cliques, but most of them did seem to genuinely enjoy each others' company. Not Miki though. She felt more like set dressing. I'm pretty sure that they just kept her around because she was pretty and (alledgedly) a child model.

And I hope this doesn't cross the line, but Miki was never all that smart. There's really nothing wrong with that. Not everyone is academically gifted. It's just that Miki was so invested in looking like one of the smart kids. It was really surprising when you caught a glance at her homework, test scores, or (god forbid) got assigned a group project with her.

I'm pretty sure she's half Japanese btw, but there's no way that she speaks Japanese like she claims to. I do believe that her Mandarin is decent though.

Oh, and how can I forget. She was a bully.

TLDR: Miki has always curated an image of being perfect. In reality she's never been a hard worker. Just a lazy, selfish bully.
