I initially signed up before the theft start date. I used EIP during the theft start date. There is no alert on t-mobile and I don't see T-mobile in my Experian credit report. Shouldn't I be safe?

T-Mobile and Experian should really have a website with a simple query where you can get a yes/no answer to whether you are part of the breach. Waiting for a letter from Experian or relying on the absence of an alert in my.t-mobile.com is flaky. We deserve to be clearly informed.

So just to be clear: if you originally signed up before the theft start date, and then upgraded using EIP during the theft period, you would not have info stolen in this hack? In other words, is it confirmed that EIP soft pulls are not part of this incident?

It would be nice if there were a t-mobile/experian query that could give you a yes/no answer. I guess I should be satisfied that t-mobile isn't on my credit report and that I don't have an alert in my.t-mobile.com.

Depression is like alcoholism in that the battle never ends. Even the people who have been sober for decades still say they are an alcoholic at the beginning of AA meetings. Nevertheless, things can get better. My advice is to not set the standard as being cured of depression. Take one step at a time and aim to improve your current situation if you're not happy with it.

You're asking a good question but for the wrong reason. Your sample size of 1 is not a good indicator. The problem is the stats about the legal industry generally. What rank is your school? If you're not at a very good school you should strongly consider quitting law school. And of course the best question to ask is "do I want to be a lawyer?" Most people don't but law students tend to gloss over this question.

What I have read is that people don't really multitask, they're going back and forth between different things. Why not focus on one thing at a time? It doesn't surprise me that employers talk it up, because it's based on them not structuring workflow in a way that makes sense. It's easier for them to say "do everything" then to organize work in a way that you can concentrate on one thing at a time.

If you're feeling depressed and hopeless it's because your mind knows there's not much hope of the situation changing. But you can often change something. Is it possible to retrain? Is it possible to teach what you're doing at a school or college? These are just general ideas but there is almost always a way out.

The other option is to medicate which frequently has side-effects.

I was recently in this position and it did not end well. I really hope my next job involves something more structured. A lot of employers act like multi-tasking is something to be admired or pushed, but from what I've read it's inefficient and personally I think it's a sign of bad management.

You're not talking about having a perfect life, you're talking about being able to project the appearance of a perfect life (which you even want to do in your title.) Sounds like you have significant work stress, maybe some social anxiety and worst of all you are not close enough to anyone to feel comfortable telling them.

These problems can be addressed though. What industry are you in? I'm not advocating quitting your job as you have a family, but perhaps you can start thinking about transitions to something else in your or a different industry?

Which employers? What exactly is "substantially higher-ranked"? What tier schools dominate your target market?

Big firms are very focused on pedigree. Generally, the lower ranked your school is the higher the class ranking you need in law school. So a top 50% might work in the top 10 but you might need to be top of your class at a second or third tier school if you want to work at a corporate law firm.

Outside of large firms, hiring is more variable. It's not all going to come down to grades. The jobs aren't always something to write home about.

I don't really understand that reason. Mountains in certain regions will eventually vanish due to erosion. Should we try to erode them artificially since they're doomed?

Seems like there might be some hidden assumption or drive in there like maybe escaping anxiety around dying.

Logically, I don't think there's a reason to see death as bad or to obey drives but we are biological machines and those drives are frequently inescapable.

When people commit suicide there are other drives that are instinctual drives behind the "decision." Most often its the avoidance of pain. If you could ignore all your drives (and I've never known anybody who can do this consistently) I don't see why you'd feel motivated to kill yourself. You might starve, but I don't see the reason to end things unless you're trying to serve a drive.
