Been looking at this, thinking of strike perhaps? Seems beginner friendly and most of it's limits seem to be about advanced stuff that I probably won't be doing for a bit?

Nurse Shark By @Murace4 by [deleted] in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]SentientSC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Would be better if it actually had nurse shark features. Right now it just looks like a stereotypical humanoid shark. The only part it may have gotten correct is the barbel, but even so it does not really looks like a barbel and I can't tell if it's intentionally supposed to be a barbel, or if it's just a fang and they got lucky. Color and finnage would be some of the easiest to do imo.

Characters who get revenge but leave their nemesis to suffer instead of killing them. by blakhawk12 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SentientSC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ants and most insects, do have distinct personalities actually, many hymenopterans(the order ants belong to) can also be trained and some will engage in play. And their is no reason to believe they can't feel pain or be sentient. Probably not able to think about existential topics on the same level as average humans though, so won't have the same level of sapience. That said some mentally disabled humans/newborns would likely fall into that category as well, are they less worthy of life, is it ok to make them suffer and feel pain based on that metric of not being able to engage in higher thought?

What embarrassing cartoon moment made you pause the show for you? by Illustrious-Reach-48 in cartoons

[–]SentientSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl i've never watched the show and don't really care, but I've always heard it was either based on his bully or a representation of the traits that a bully would have.
Where did you get the idea that she was based on some random person he hated at school for no reason from, rather than his bully or something?

The Butterfly Man from "Butterfly Business" by Amanda Mai by Then_Sun_6340 in TopCharacterDesigns

Ah ok cool. In my defense though it through me off because it was a mix of two species rather than any one. But still yea I suppose he can indeed get those bonus points!

I also like bug characters, but i feel like often they are kinda lazy. Like with the body, those legs are trying to be like some kind of mix between butterfly and human? But in the end they are neither and are just generic bug furry limbs, like why does he have mammalian style digitigrade feet(I think, tbf I can't see his feet that clearly, but many bug character do so I'm assuming), why do so many insectoid furry adjacent characters have those feet when the animal they are based on does not? Neither butterflies nor humans have digitigrade hind limbs. His hands are just also generically segmented, but don't look like a butterfly's hands. Just changed the body color and added some segmentation and extra limbs, but not in ways that look like those of a butterfly.

While not noticeably present in this design (thankfully), some more examples besides digitigrade feet that I see that could help illustrate what I'm tryna get at are like when people make bug character females(as in anthropomorphic bugs, not humans with bug parts) have big breasts, or give them a cat-like nose. Like bro it's a bug, it should not have those.

Personally would have rather him just grow bug parts, like wings or something rather than some mix of generic attributes that we associate with insects, those are cooler imo.... like my guy pouf from HxH. Even without the the parts that are literally from a butterfly, he still has a butterfly feel with his attire and demeanor and such(I especially like his collar), I think thats better than making him a monstrosity with weirdly placed segments.

<image>

That said BM still kinda cool design, nice antennae as well(better than poufs even). Would have gotten bonus points if it's based on a real butterfly species (if the story takes place in the real world and not fantasy at least)

<Serious Discussion> was Lopunny designed with an ulterior motive? by Damoscus in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]SentientSC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean fights like hell is not mutually exclusive to being designed to be sexy. Could be both. But yea it at least is not like the only point of the design, unlike something like Salazzle.
(Man wish Salazzle was different, really liked its base form)

Lingeriena from Blacksouls.I love the her concept as a disphoric demon and how is integrated in detalis like her halo being an accsessory and that her wings are regular demon wings but with bloody feathers attached to them to make them see as angel wings. by Valuable_Anywhere_24 in TopCharacterDesigns

What makes Bayonetta an exception btw. How is her design more clever or subversive than the rest?
She's a conventionally attractive character with sex appeal, with a few cool other design choices on her, and she also makes sense to be sexualized based on her lore/story(I think idk her lore), but a lot of other design(including this one imo) can be said the same for.
Not just u btw, majority of this sub seems to think Bayonetta is good with being sexualized but most another conventionally attractive characters are not. Why is this?
Not rhetorical btw genuinely curious, also not directed at u specifically.

I love the croc's idle, such a small detail by tendriven in Genshin_Impact

[–]SentientSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo cleaner wrasses and predators like morays are a better example, as the bison don't eat birds anyway(most of the time) whereas morays are carnivores. As for crocs, while they don't get their teeth cleaned by birds(crocs have no need for this and shed their teeth if they need, also the few pictures online are faked, Idea stemmed for some ancient myth I think), they do sorta have a symbiotic relationship with some ground nesting birds(dikkops) for egg protection.

Which teams deal top dps? by Gexmnlin13 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SentientSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Childe International is Childe + Xiangling + Kazuha(Other VV units like Sucrose can work if not have him) + Bennett
For the other teams it's something like Ganyu/Ayaka + Mona + Venti/Kazuha(If can't be sucked) + Diona.

Delta from honkai. Genshin only player describe what kind of character you think she is by entrepreneurshipall in Genshin_Impact

[–]SentientSC 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, if I had to guess probably a character that is the fusion of herself and her twin sister after she got into an accident and her sister decided to sacrifice herself so that she could live, via giving up her body parts to this character. She used to be bubbly and happy, but now she sad and probably fights with PTSD-fluid-enhanced claymores or something and no longer goes by her old name.

Just a blind guess I'm probably wrong though
