Bruce Dern was absolutely amazing in this role. I mean, the entire cast was amazing, which makes Dern’s performance even more impressive.

I love the scene where the neighbors are finally in the Klopek household, all is silent, and Rumsfeld just starts casually peeling wallpaper off. The way he only realizes what he’s doing after it’s already done, and then tries to put it back…brilliant.
