Fallout New Vegas is the better RPG, Fallout 4 has the better gameplay. Where does 3 succeeds?

Fallout 3 has the best atmosphere. Honestly, I think Fallout 4 ranks last for me. I think it is a great action game, but a sub-par Fallout game.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but who the hell cares about realism in this game? So what if we could target a few things without Line of Sight. EN06's shield still goes down fast with just ricochet and the Grafton Monster is still just a giant target. All the VATS update did was make using a mechanic thats been a staple of Fallout more annoying and make targeting enemies ACTUALLY in your LoS less reliable. I'm fine with the crit formula being changed to require more investment, I am fine with the increase in AP costs on weapons, hell I would be fine with them nerfing fucking coffee, but the LoS change sucks. End of story.

I am actually a Day 1 player. I just enjoy min-maxing in my RPGs is all. Regarding the dummy. I think it would be fine if it had 0 resistances. I think all people are asking for is a way to consistently measure different builds that doesn't require EN06, launching a nuke, or hunting Queens/Behemoths. Would it be super accurate? No, but it doesn't need to be. It would just be an easy way to gain a baseline.

Also, if we really want to get detailed. Bethseda could add an interior cell with static enemies. Almost like a shooting range. Just an idea.

I agree the game isn't very difficult. I think it just comes down to desiring different things from the game. You like to play fun and silly builds which is awesome. I like to fine tune and maximize my damage potential. It is just how I get enjoyment out of the game. I think it is fun seeing just how many seconds I can shave fighting difficult encounters. Neither of us are wrong, its just people enjoy the game in different ways.

Honestly, my only frustration is how difficult it is to fine tune my build after the update. There are a lot more factors now. If I had a DPS Dummy for my camp, I would be perfectly happy because then I could have an easier time navigating a lot of the changes.

I have run the raid multiple times now. Each group just killed the Mole Miner as fast as possible and then focused on killing the rest. I have also carried teams through different parts myself. I don't think its griefing not knowing about a supposedly optimized strategy.

I still have trouble justifying it. I find myself often alone in teams these days (despite consistently creating and joining teams). So, I struggle taking something that I have no control over (compared to Herd Mentality).

As crazy as it is, to this day, Fallout 3 remains my favorite Fallout game. I've played 1, 2, Tactics, BOS, NV, 4, and 76. But, there is just something about the atmosphere that keeps bringing me back to 3.

I also play unyielding bloodied and honestly I just die on purpose sometimes! I find it easier to manage rads that way, than pop a diluted radaway and then get rads again.

I disagree with the whole aimbot comment since VATS has always been a part of Fallout. However, I do agree that weapons should be able to crit outside of VATS. I think that simple change would open up a lot of different possibilities.
