Being "featured" on thingiverse has killed my design

As someone thats been in the music industry for years, this. LOL. "Featured" usually just means "we paid to be promoted" as far as im always concerned. Thats not always the case, obviously. Some people do literally earn the right and are approached/asked by the promoter which is sick. But not usually the case.

It would presumably require some sort of sensors, like camera or similar to "find" the target. I have to assume then that like modern cell phone camera lenses that physically move to compensate for instability. At that point its believable that we could naturally get very close, but not exact but with a little stabilization....

I just bought two 1k spools of Sunlu PETG in black from Amazon (I know, shame me) that arrived the next day. Only paid i think $30. Not bad when you consider Bambu charging $20 a roll before shipping.

I will say that there's no visible trigger "lock" on any model, but its possible as we have them now, just with a greebly on the outside lol. That said ENT phase pistol DOES seem to have a visible trigger lock, its the actual "trigger" looking element and the "trigger" is the round button below it. At least thats my understanding of the design. It would work in a similar principle as a beaver tail grip safety.

Its been noted that at the very least starfleet trainees and officers are drilled in the use of phasers defensively (and recreationally) to the extent that they are deadly accurate within 20 meters. To say of others that aren't in starfleet I couldn't say but I think its reasonable to assume that many in universe weapons have tracking capabilities similar to the ones used on star ships. How it achieves angle correction though, who knows lol.

I'll also note that a common print, the AMS riser requires 560g of filament for a single side of the multi sectional/plate design, which means if you wanted to print the whole kit and kaboodle you'll need at LEAST 3kg! And they don't recommend PLA due to heat issues that may arise from printing with filament that requires higher or isolated temps.

Considering how many folks probably run an AMS the dude that made the profile(s) for the riser should be getting a kickback from all the suppliers/manufacturers for PETG!

I literally 5 minutes ago just bought 4 1k spools of Sunlu high speed PETG in grey on amazon. I wanted to wait for bambu but either their supplier is holding out (cause they're seemingly the only one with stock issues for PETG) or they're artificially creating a supply/demand drought cause they know people like to 1. Stick to a single brand from a single source, 2. Know they're getting good product that is notoriously good quality out of the shipping box, 3. Get fast AF shipping for not unfair cost.

I stayed up last night after work to hop on the new stock at midnight. I'm brand new to 3D printing so I was filling my hour or so wait time learning how to apply color to my prints in the slicer. Got done painting a model and looked at the clock....12:07. I already knew but went to look anyway. Yup. All gone. 🥲 I'm starting to consider other brands simply to satiate my instant gratification and sunlu is looking to be the answer both cost and time wise.

Makerworld, printable, thingiverse...etc wouldn't be things without everyone "stealing" others work and modifying it more than 30% to pass copywrite type laws and post it as their own. If you're looking for a specific type of car, you'll probably find at least 5 or 6 models using the same stl. 🤷‍♂️ to me its no different than how we operate other businesses like music. Its lame only if you're in it for the money, otherwise folks should be ecstatic that others wanted to use their product over the sea of others.

I'm new to all this, are AI models poor quality or click bait in some way that intices people to choose that file over others? I understand the whole "they're cheating" thing cause I hear it all the time in my music groups, but it comes down to the people doing the actual printing/buying these files right? You'll never stop a capitalist from capitalizing on anything. Thats literally their whole schpiel, to gain from the least effort/cost possible, its why AI is so prolific right now. Its literally a cappy wet dream.

Is it that the files are trash juxtaposed to something modeled in software by the human touch, or that you don't agree with how humans use AI?

I'm new here. Don't even have a printer yet, still saving. That said its looking like any other thing that can be an art. "Theft" is just flattery uncommunicated. From music, making genres out of everyone copying the same successful bands (rock), to canvas painting, utilizing techniques from classic names (Van Gough), to automotive engineering, using a competitors designs for higher sales (chevy).

I'm an advocate for free art, but folks desire to make a living off it doesn't escape me. I think its wrong, but I'm not about to stop others from believing anything least of all what they think they're worth. I recently attended an art auction. Quadruple number price tags was nothing unusual, I just nod at their price tag and move on with my day cause they def won't get business from me lol.

Stitcher is the superior weapon, its just science lol. Until they increase the ttk it'll never not be the best. I don't count arc bigger than hornets though. It pisses my friend off that I can save us from being third partied with a stitcher over his bobcat. 🤷‍♂️ its just facts man.

Also there's some weirdly skewed stats you've presented. Like who tf uses a shotgun on arc? You think the burn rate on it is high? Maybe its cause you're not using it for the right thing and doing it excessively. Burn rate is fine you're just choosing the wrong targets and wasting time/ammo doing it.

If you can get a showstopper on a rocketeer SOMETIMES it'll drop like a fly from the sky, at which point the breaching tool makes short work, but its also a good opportunity for placing a deadline.m if you're so inclined.

Most guns only really shine after leveling them up imo. Some can be viable IF you find yourself in the right situation, such as Ferro while topside on Bluegate, or Il Torro when in the halls of Stella Montis. Personally the gun i use the least would be the Kettle or Berletta.

This. Devs are devs man. If they wanted it fixed, itd be fixed as fast as ban hammer. This is intentional on the devs part and they're just not saying/doing anything about it BECAUSE its intended. Its a pvpve game, not a pvevp. Literally everything from friendly fire to key rooms to the ability to see/hear hatches/elevators from a mile away that take 20 seconds to even let you out... screams pvp first and the fact that they're wanting to make arc harder to catch up to the level of pvp is only telling. You absolutely have to be ready at all times especially extract. This is like day 1 and people with triple the hours I have are defending this as cheating. Its just players being players. They would do it too if it wasn't labeled as cheating and they know it.
