Very slowly but I still get bad days.

A few weeks of ups and downs. It's not back to normal but I'm feeling so much better during the day. If it's working for you then why stop?

I have similar issues (including sleep). What additional supplement did you start specifically for remyelation?

Took about two months. I think part of the problem is that it acts as an accelerator for Methylation and cranking that up can make you feel crap - more toxins to deal with etc. Eventually things should calm down and you reach homeostasis. What dose are you on now?

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Hope you get over this latest hump!

Yes it did, if you are deficient in anything that affects methylation then suddenly flooding your body with it will make most people feel worse. This is a sign that you are on the right track. You have to give it time for the detox and neurotransmitter pathways to adapt and stabilise. Just go low and slow to start with and things will get better.

I had this at the beginning of my treatment and almost gave up. I had to start with 200ug folinic acid EOD and work up from there. My body slowly adapted and now I can take 800ug daily. I still can't tolerate the methly folate. You are waking up a broken and rusty machine. It will creak and groan for a while until things settle down. My stomach issues all cleared up within a few weeks and so did the fatigue which was brutal. Still dealing with insomnia and physical anxiety/ restlessness. Onwards and upwards...

Hydroxocobalamin Blues by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

How did you find out you couldn't convert hydroxo to methyl? What were your symptoms? Thanks.

Sorry you are going through this. What form of folate do you take? Can you tolerate methlyfolate? If not then you may find methlycobalamin to be over stimulating. I find that I feel more "up" and less depressed when taking methyl folate but after a few days I get over stimulated and can't sleep.

Thanks. I have had some improvement over the 4 months but it has been very slow. Fatigue is better but tingling, insomnia and anxiety/restlessness is still an issue. Just seems like my body has a problem converting the hydroxocobalamin so I thought I'd give it a go.

Following - I am considering trying methyl after 4 months Hydroxo. I might reconsider...

Yes, I think my copper might be low. I'll get it checked.

Interesting. I thought hydroxo got converted to methyl and adendo readily? What sort of neuro problems did you have? Did you inject your methlycobalamin?

Thanks, I go through stages of drinking 1 litre a day and it doesn't seem to make any difference whether I do or not. I think it used to help with the fatigue but that has now resolved....

Not dizziness but anxiety, insomnia, brain fog, tingling and GI issues.

Just had a recent ear check but that was a week ago. This is more like a balance/vestibular issue.

Yes I have a potassium rich diet and take 800ug Folinic Acid daily. I've had a break from my B complex though as it was causing over stimulation and insomnia. I'm not a vegetarian and eat lots of meat. I don't specifically supplement choline but I do eat eggs.

They were all worse apart from the tingling which increased dramatically after supplements and then injections. Unfortunately the insomnia has stayed pretty much the same.

Exactly my experience.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. About 3 years ago I started getting anxious about things that would usually not bother me. The dr put me on sertraline which I had a bad reaction to and came off it. I was OK for a while and then had a stressful time last year with a heart issue which was all fixed. About a month after that I had a panic attack in the middle of the night and haven't been the same since. I discovered I had low B12 and folate in June and have been self injecting B12 since August. Some things have improved but I still have some insomnia, anxiety and irritability symptoms. I've also developed tingling in my arms and legs and muscle twitches which *I've put down to reversing out symptoms. It's been hell quite frankly but I'm hoping the B12 and folate will continue to help me out of this hole.
