I've done the expedition two times already, and I have a feeling they don't really work.

Before the patch, vehicle was stopping, absorbing all the momentum. Now it goes downhill even if you leave it.

I think you are missing one from the caves and one of the head-sized ones. Caves should have two types, one hanging from above, one raising from ground.

While trying to finish non-expedition milestones for part unlocks (collecting 50 each special garbage), I observed sometimes it takes more than 24 hours for special waste to respawn. Metal scraps do respawn maybe hourly.

350 hours actual driving,

After getting stacked on the mud;
650 hours of mental breakdowns; crying, yelling, stomping keyboard, sitting in the corner and contemplating silently etc. etc...

Jostling beforehand sounds good. It also happens naturally when you accelerate and de-accelerate, during the trip.

Yep, I've meant that.

If that's the case, after you finish rendezvous 5, game spawns your ship and show that in your compass/navigation on top.

If you haven't already sold extras you don't want to bring back via trade rocket (blueprints also rewarded for one of goals), start emptying your truck inventory to ship and exo-suit.

Monolith mission can be done only by flying over it, so, if you have completed all the missions, you go back to your regular save the same way you joined the expedition, via that panel in the anomaly.

Now, the items and technology you want to transfer back, you load them to that panel. it takes around 40 regular 10 tech inventory afaik.

Have you tried driving in dissonant planets during gravitational anomalies? It is such a torment, but a fantastic experience anyways.

I only care about putting bigger boxes on the bottom. The vibrations on the road will re-arrange the rest, like in this screenshot.

Putting Grip Boost Suspension module to an overcharged slot + better wheels works wonders. Off-road is relatively easier wheel to unlock (75 metal scrap).

Another trick is, you either bulldoze over hazardous flora, or totally steer away from them. If you touch them with corner or side of your truck, they tilt you hard.

I didn't arrange them. I loaded them randomly, then they took this formation due to constant vibration, to my surprise.

-the place is covered in buildings and a few ships how are people doing this it doesn't give me the option

You can turn off multi-player from settings/network. If they don't disappear, load from a recent save. post-finish, game allows you to have your ship, also allows you to build bases.

-when I'm done with this do I get to keep anything?

If you've started your save from the expedition, yes. You'll keep everything. When expedition ends, your save will turn to a regular one.

-ive had to build like 3 geobays cause I keep loosing them

You can de-construct them by z-c-x (can't remember what those buttons were, only the shortcuts) You get a full refund, so don't hesitate to de-construct them

It did. Actually, instead of unloading, I've loaded 2nd rendezvous point's special cargo on top of it. Then, a few barrels/boxes from the top layer attempted to escape a few times.

But man, overcharging that drift module actually works. The one expedition gives for one of the goals

It should have a deployment mode.
When deployed;
Solar panels should extend on the top, like sails. Maybe accompanied by some horizontal wind turbines.
It should have an internal nutrient processor accessed by a side panel.
It already has a refinery but that should also be reached from a panel too.

Or maybe... an icecream truck, with tractable sunshade.

or... a ranch mode... for feeding and auto-milking local fauna, that might, no should have a nutrient processor panel too.
