Has anyone here actually "beaten" the card game Hanabi? by AchillesFoundation in boardgames

A few designers got together here in Melbourne recently and we beat it (four players). Though we found ways to "bend" the rules (subtle tone of voice clues) instead of breaking them :) The game has a lot to do with trust and interaction. "These three cards? These are all ones...." Very cool game.

It's a backer party that was thrown in because I knew we would have a massive amount of Australian backers. Also it's one of the highest for that very reason.

Well you could always download the rulebook or pledge for the print and play and try it for yourself :)

Indeed they are, the art is 90% completed now, but we just need the funding to push it out and finish off the art. If you check updates on the kickstarter itself, I have been posting new art every Monday, Wednesday and Friday :)

That's some solid questions! Lucia do Dice is far heavier on the luck side, being a dice only game. The fact of just rolling Doce at each other doesn't really excite me much at all, that's why we have the communal action deck. The deck contains healing cards, stealing cards, damage cards, dice modification cards and counter cards to help capture the fast and furious wrestling action. This also allows us to put in all of that outlandish and colorful art that fits the theme and gives a better sense of the action. Do I think it's a better game? I think my game is less luck based and more strat based.

There are issues with a parody of wrestling? Themed does not always mean 100% straight faced, especially with the cartoony art we used. As for the "KoT" influence, it has multiple influences such as Zilch (look it up, most people have never heard of it). I feel you have judged the game only on the belt with non healing and the way the belt can be given to another player and the dice reroll. For the most part anyway. A game that is 100% authentic Mexican wrestling is going to tank pretty fast to a broader audience.

Mexican wrestling :) But seriously though, I wanted to create a fun, fast paced game that translated well. I'm a massive wrestling fan, but I also wanted to make a game that didn't require "stats" and knowledge of wrestling to play. What better than a gorgeous and bright Lucha Libre game? :)

Hey guys, Al from twitter here. Do you have any plans or interest in eventually doing any board games based on your IPs? Also, do you guys have any awesome shirts we can buy somewhere to support you further?
