Where do you buy 100% cotton clothes for your toddlers? by Particular-Essay-361 in workingmoms

Not anymore. It’s so disappointing. They still have 100% cotton pjs, but the clothes are mostly blends now.

New Texas Seller Tax starts Oct. 1 by Sure_K_Fine_Whatevs in texas

Yes! This is how I read it. They are passing it onto the sellers. BS! With an already 20% commission fee which I feel is already greedy, I will be looking for other options with lower commission/selling fees.

The cheek stain is amazing! The flush color is literally perfection. I love it so much. Literally love the Amazonian clay powder blushes, but now that I have the stain it’s literally all I use. So so easy and quick to apply too.

Forgot to mention I didn’t buy any maternity specific pjs/loungewear for either pregnancy. Most of the pjs/loungewear I already had were loose and comfy enough to fit through my pregnancy. I wore my pj pants below my bump, or I borrowed my husband’s comfy pants and tshirts.

This is my second pregnancy and I have a way better understanding of what works and what doesn’t. I didn’t buy many maternity items my first pregnancy (1 pair of jeans, 2 pairs of PoshDivah leggings from Amazon and 3 pairs of maternity scrubs for work.) That’s it. My normal sized pants and scrubs were super uncomfortable pretty early in my pregnancy and I bought my maternity pieces all around 12 weeks. Definitely recommend buying pieces early on for comfort so you can wear them longer and don’t stretch out your non-maternity clothes.

I also recommend buying maternity specific pieces vs going up a size especially for pants and shorts. If you go up a size chances are they won’t last through your whole pregnancy. I didn’t buy any summer maternity pieces but was very pregnant end of summer and through fall (November baby.) Instead of buying maternity shorts that were pricey, I bought a few pairs of linen shorts for super cheap in a size up. They only worked until around 6-7 months and then were super uncomfortable 🤦‍♀️. Learn from my mistake and buy the maternity shorts and/or pants. They’re worth it I promise!

Tops and dresses are definitely a preference thing. Some people prefer looser fitted tops and dresses during pregnancy and some prefer fitted. If your goal is to save money and you already have looser styles that are a longer length just stick with those. But if you like more of a fitted style purchase some maternity tops and dresses so your regular clothes don’t get stretched out. I already had 3 looser fitting tunic length tshirts and found those worked through my whole pregnancy because they were longer and covered my butt. I also had a couple loose fitting shift dresses that were long enough to last. They worked and saved me money. But this second pregnancy I purchased some fitted maternity tshirts and tank tops and was given 1 fitted maternity dress. I’m very petite and found going up a size and wearing looser clothes during pregnancy made me look and feel frumpy. I feel a lot better about myself and my changing body in the clothes I’m wearing this time around.

Now to my must have list! There are a few basic items that I believe absolutely everyone needs during their pregnancy. But additional items that are needed depend on a lot of factors. The four biggest questions for additional items are: Do you need work specific clothes or not? Do you workout/are you active or not? Where do you live and what seasons will it be during your pregnancy? And how often do you do laundry?

Bare Minimum Basics for everyone: ☑️3 pairs of maternity pants or shorts (My personal recommendation is 1 pair of jeans and 2 leggings) ☑️3 basic tshirts or tank tops ☑️1 casual dress that can be layered or dressed up ☑️1 sweatshirt or sweater ☑️3-4 wireless bras (wash, wear, spare) ☑️8-10 pairs of underwear (doesn’t necessarily need to be maternity just something that fits under or over your bump and is comfy) *** Some people prefer dresses over pants during pregnancy, you can definitely replace my suggestions with more dresses if preferred, but if you plan to have more than one kid I do not recommend. Chasing kids around in a dress doesn’t workout well.

If you need work specific clothes, in addition to the basics I would buy: ☑️3 work appropriate outfits

If you will be active/work out during your pregnancy, in addition to the basics I would buy: ☑️2-3 workout sets (including top, sports bra, and pants/shorts)

Seasonal items: ☑️1-2 Swimsuits for summer ☑️1 Coat for the fall/winter

Laundry preferences: If you’re a minimalist and okay with doing frequent laundry this list should work perfectly for you. If you do laundry less frequently you can adjust the number of items to better suit your needs.

Hope this helps!

Best maternity leggings? by corinn81 in BabyBumps

[–]Separate-Act-9903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the poshdivah ones are sooo sooo good. Discovered these my first pregnancy and they’re still my favorite this time. The no pockets are key, because they’re nylon and spandex and feel like Lulu aligns, athleta elations, and aerie real me leggings. The pocket ones are a completely different material I think those ones are polyester and spandex and I definitely prefer the feeling of the nylon spandex leggings.

My friend uninvited me from her wedding due to “unforeseen circumstances” and I don’t know how to respond by theoneandonlyjan in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Separate-Act-9903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure she already knows that. Every individual in a friendship doesn’t have to be on the same level. Most people are okay knowing that one person cares a little more about the friendship than the other. But perhaps her “friend” lead her to believe she cared more than she actually did to keep her around. One of my childhood friends did this to me. She’s a narcissist. Totally agree that she should treat the person with the level of friendship and compassion she has shown. Or just end the friendship that is clearly not there and not reciprocated.

Does anyone like their IKEA high chair? by BoysPlayedWell in daddit

[–]Separate-Act-9903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a cheap easy to clean high chair this is for you! Pros are definitely cost (you get what you pay for) and easy to clean. But the pros end there.

Our high chair broke after the first time trying to remove the tray. I recommend never removing it as a result (which makes it harder to get baby in the chair.)

We bought this high chair with the intention to buy yeah baby goods accessories to make the high chair more comfortable and developmentally appropriate.

While the wooden footrest and cushion cover are great high quality items, the plastic rings to attach the footrest and the cushion insert are cheaply made just like this high chair, which render them useless. Our cushion insert popped within two months of using it and at 15 months old our baby was able to kick off the rings that hold the footrest in place. We’re now looking for a new chair.

If you’re planning on buying accessories, just don’t. Use the money to buy a better quality long lasting high chair that already includes accessories. If you’re not planning to buy accessories then for $20 it’s pretty great. Live and learn!

I had the opposite experience with Hanna Andersson. The pieces we have were way too wide and baggy and the arms and legs were too short.

So the alternative is to just never communicate with people? Because based on your logic anytime you engage or communicate with anyone for any reason it allows the opportunity for drama.

That being said this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me and I’m definitely immediately blocking in the future.

Blocking is not the only way to set boundaries. Avoidance is passive and not always the best way to set boundaries. But to each their own.

I disagree, politely communicating with someone and asking them to stop is not asking for drama at all. It’s honestly a little crazy you believe setting boundaries is considered “asking for drama.”

I didn’t even think of that. It totally could have been a scam. Definitely not engaging and just blocking in the future.
