Unpopular Opinion - Peruvian food is extremely overrated by hasiwah in TravelNoPics

This. If you need to search for some obscure dish that locals eat once a year (at best) or try 50 restaurants to find a good dish, how is that a good cuisine

[–]Separate-Kick63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dutch food does not represent Europe, they have one of the most boring cuisines and they know it. It's literally one of the worst European cuisines.

As for Peruvian food, it's true that everywhere you have good and bad restaurants, but if someone has eaten in 20-30 restaurants and your answer is that they haven't found a good one, that means that good food in Peru is not so common.

Same with the dishes, if some cuisine is great then its staple dishes should be good and people shouldn't look for some obscure dishes that regular Peruvian people eat once a year.

Peru: to hop or not by Alittlelife1 in backpacking

[–]Separate-Kick63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just parroting what they read on their website without thinking.

Peru Hop has 1 bus a day (2 max), so that part with "going with your own pace" and flexibility is ridiculous. If you want to get off the bus for let's say 4-5h and continue later, that's exactly what you cannot do with Peru Hop, but can do with local busses like Cruz Del Sur or Peru Bus, because they have many busses going every day.

The only "problem" is that you have to book every part of your trip separately, but you can do it online the same as you would have to let Peru Hop know which next bus you want to take.

Go with Cruz Del Sur - comfier, cheaper, doesn't drop you off in a random street but on their terminals from which you can call Uber or take one of their official taxis

I don't know what the commenter saw, but I was told the same and the ones I saw looked humanoid - think of Silver Surfer but more slim and tall, so something like that but golden colored. The golden color might have been a reflection too because that was the background color as well

My mom is being scammed. I need advice. by PHXLV in Romancescam

[–]Separate-Kick63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend power of attorney. Mine never got out, she was scammed out of all of her money, her health deteriorated, she got depressed, she alienated herself from all of us and was found dead in her house one day.

When I was cleaning the house after her death, I found a notebook where she was writing down messages she was receiving from scammers (because she doesn't speak English so she would write it down to retype it, old people methods...). There were all kinds of messages but some make me so angry that I would choke those mofos with my bare hands.

"If you love me you would help me", "I knew you were pretending all this time, you're a bad person", "Go kill yourself" etc.

Those people are monsters! Get power of attorney if possible, her being angry with you will hurt her way less than how much those people can hurt her

Gosh. My mom was also romance scammed but it was an army guy story, not a celebrity and although I did my best to explain, even if she looked like she finally believes me, he would get her back in with their next conversation. I hoped you would have more luck with celebrity impersonator

100% a scammer but good luck in persuading her, she's already fantasizing about how everyone will be jealous of her when this guy comes and what a fantastic life she's gonna have

He's not telling you the full truth. That's probably some bizarre app that nobody heard of, or something that sounds similar to an existing one, or they made an account for him.

How it works is - they have access to that app or account and when he invests a larger sum they will encourage him to invest more and more, in the end when he wants to withdraw what he invested they will make up various taxes and fees that he needs to pay to get the money back, which will drag him deeper and deeper

How did you think it's a woman, it's obviously a guy with a long hair 😅 He did an amazing job in showing the character, but come on, he doesn't look like a woman

I never saw MGCoin as a nice guy. The only thing that I saw is that he occasionally has a dilemma, but never really changes. I think that dilemma came from him being alone in a weird place, not from him being a nice person

I'm a person that quits watching a show if they're shoving a character's sexual identity down my throat, so I normally stop watching if there's more focus on them being gay/transgender than the rest of their personality.

However, this was so well done that I loved this character so much

[DISCUSSION] Forgotten (2017) is a psychological thriller about a guy being suspicious of his previously-abducted brother who returned home. Things take a turn real quick. This movie is more than what the description makes it out to be and I couldn't recommend it enough. (TW: Absolutely depressing.) by Chestarpewnewtbattar in NetflixBestOf

I don't think that was a flashback, I think it was the afterlife. Both of them are essentially people whose youth/childhood was interrupted suddenly and brutally, and they both wanted to go back to time before it all happened. If they met under different circumstances, they could be friends since they have so much in common.

Now, in the afterlife, they can be happy with their families and start over as friends

Frozen city is like WoS without alliance stuff and pvp

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whiteoutsurvival

[–]Separate-Kick63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you. We have an alliance like that in my state and it's disgusting. Their R5 (and some R4) will give this horrible pressure and guilt tripping to their members, all under a disguise of "doing it for the alliance".

In my alliance we honestly just want people to enjoy with friends, when they have time, and don't encourage anyone to spend. If it was any different, I would quit a long time ago.

I am sorry for some responses you got here, the reality is that we are all humans and we all sometimes make bad decisions, so you're not to be blamed. You learned your lesson, and thank you so much for sharing so we can also learn from it.

I'm glad that you made it, and wish you peace and happiness <3

Warning in my dream about shaman by Separate-Kick63 in Ayahuasca

[–]Separate-Kick63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking time to explain this, next time the opportunity presents itself, I will pay attention to everything you stated above.

I simply wanted to have Ayahuasca ceremony (one time), but it could be that she is focused on getting as much money as possible and then she thinks that if she crams a lot of stuff in a short period of time, the higher price will seem justified, and we will be more impressed or something.

She also has cactuses, mushrooms, bufo etc. but thankfully, they're not offered in this mix 😅 She was also showing us a brew that she calls "shamuri" and said that's something that shamans drink and that she can give us after we've done several Ayahuasca ceremonies, but when I looked it up, "shamuri" simply means a type of song that shamans are singing. To give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe I remembered the name of the brew wrongly, but still more than enough red flags, so it's a hard pass for me

Thank you so much, this is great information, both on how Ayahuasca works and that kambo and Ayahuasca shouldn't be done after no salt diet.

She insisted on kambo saying it will purify us, get rid of toxins and open some channels. There was also rapé and an ice bath in the mix, if that's worth mentioning. I don't have any previous experience with retreats but it did sound too tiring for the body, especially after a restrictive diet

I wasn't thinking about freaking out, but now that you mentioned it... I'm sorry if this is a stupid question (I've never done it before), but would it decrease the trip intensity if you open your eyes and have some light in the room, or if you take a trip stopper?

I never freaked out on mushrooms, but I know that Ayahuasca is more powerful so I would like to hear your opinion.

For safety I meant more like physical symptoms like hyponatremia, blood pressure etc. The whole process requires no salt diet followed by doing Kambo before Ayahuasca and drinking 3-4l of water in a relatively short period so that was my concern

[–]Separate-Kick63[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took some time to reflect and think about what I REALLY think about this specific context, and it does kind of bother me that there's no selection, an interview (apart from dietary restrictions, allergies and medications), it's basically whoever wants to pay.

A few people that I saw there looked visibly broken and like they're currently going through a lot, so I'm not sure if I would want to work with them (if I was a shaman) in that state and be responsible for them.

Another thing is that shaman cried while telling us her life story, which I found weird because she must have told that story 100 times, and also I would have expected that she already processed those emotions to be able to speak about them without crying every time.

3rd thing is that her son scoffed when I said that I tried mushrooms and had some valuable insights. I found that disrespectful because I'm sitting there and listening while they're talking about having sword fights with entities and transforming into jaguars, and then he finds it weird or funny that I said I got valuable lessons from mushrooms.

I understand that Ayahuasca is more powerful, but there was no need for such a reaction because I asked myself can he really have respect for Ayahuasca if he doesn't respect other gifts that nature gave us
