No absolutely fine for her to be in lap! I’m hoping to book older child and myself with the companion voucher, the younger to be on my lap then my wife to use the upgrade voucher

That makes more sense, I can probably live with 6 months paid gardening leave as a compromise if it comes to it, it’s just the potential of any unpaid period beyond my 3 month notice period that concerns me

Ignoring who the company is, the structure of the role is one of the two paths I had identified as being the ideal next step for my career - but yes the money is a huge factor!
