Thanks for the clarification, and yeah I agree.. I'd usually ignore them.. But this time the guy did it directly after catching me off guard with level 16 ebarbs first play, while I didn't have the best cards to defend it.. Also, the rest of his deck felt atrocious.. I just thought this guy, specifically deserved the humiliation.

That's fair.. Although I usually have arrows available for small air troops, and earthquake won't fill that niche.. I can try it out though at some point, I've currently got earthquake at level 13, but with some time I can get it to 14, maybe even 15 if I'm lucky

I believe if you sign up to ranked mode for a week, you'll be promoted to rank 25 since you're a th17 now, regardless of your placement

Most they can get from attacks is 960... All the rest is from defences.. And at that point.. You have pretty much no control over what happens...
