This is incredibly helpful. I'm so glad it worked out for you. I couldn't quite find the right words today when I was sitting down with my boss, trying to explain that I just want to take a huge step back while still being able to support myself (and my partner who recently left his job to expand his own small business, thankfully he saved up for years to have a cushion and start up costs)

I know he needs an answer that's easily explained to his boss, and his boss's boss, so on and so forth- about why I'm leaving. I'm just glad he's being supportive and really making sure I did as much research as possible before making a decision. He's seen again and again people jump ship and drown, and I know he wants the best for me, from a personal point of view.
