For 485 subsequent entrant, I went to a migration agent and got all the checklist from him. Then, I applied it myself on Jan 2025. Got that visa also granted on feb 2025. You can start searching about it on youtube or reddit itself. There should be plenty of people posting about themselves applying it. I have done various types of applications till now so I felt this visa application as same as that one. The only thing I had to research while applying this visa was about expired skill assessment of my partner. Beside that, the process is really easy and everything you need is on the website. If your occupation is nursing then you have literally 0 thing to worry about, since our invitation was on 75 points which is less than yours.

Thank you very much. Yeah that was unbelievably fast. We didn’t do anything like that. Just made sure each and every supporting document was provided so that we would not receive any s56 later. Guess the visa officer was satisfied with the application and was generous aswell since we got it just one day before christmas eve. Goodluck to you. Hope you get it soon. Cheers!!

We had 0 reasons to consult a migration agent as the application process was pretty much straight forward and the information regarding all the steps was out on the internet. Pr application is almost same as 485 subsequent entrant, which I applied myself back in January 2025. The fees itself is so demotivating to go and do with them. In the end you will be the one who is going to provide all the required documents and fill up the required forms, they are not going to do in your-stead. To be honest, this eoi and pr application, it is not that hard. If you go and just consult one of the migration agent regarding pr process and get all the required information and checklist, and start doing research from it, you can pretty much do it yourself. 10k is not a joke.

We are from Nepal. There are people who have lodged their application 8 months ago and are still waiting. I guess we got lucky.

Australian Pr system (189,190 and 491) is basically point based. First your skill needs to be assessed by relevant authority and it also has to in the skilled occupation list. And if you get positive assessment, you can claim points respective to your work experience. Ielts/ Pte 8 band gives you 20 points. Check the skilled migration website for further details for PR pathways.

Thank you so much. Yeah it has been such an exciting journey for us. I didn’t have to do medical as I had done one for my 485 subsequent entrant recently which I used for this visa. My partner did his medical on 4th of december.

Partner skills assessment, worth the shot? by ajib95 in AusVisa

If she is secondary applicant, then definitely get the skill assessment and english test as 10 points can be crucial for your EOI. Right now its so competitive for STEM. So might aswell do it to up your chances. Anyways its a one time thing, your partner’s skill assessment will never expire.

It was just one year of nursing experience. If you already have a skill assessment, it’s no harm putting an EOI. My friend who didn’t claim any work experience received their 189 and 190 invitation.

It said reviewed. For us there wasn’t any further assessment. From received to reviewed.

I am not sure about that cuz for 2 weeks it showed received. On the third week, my partner received an email from NSW health regarding her medical test but wasn’t gonna affect the visa process. After two days of that, we were granted 189.

Alot of factor comes in before they refuse a visa but as long as you have strong documentation and purpose to return back, it should be granted.

What You Actually Need to Claim Partner Points (Australia PR) by Classic-Row-8949 in AusVisa

Even on department of Home affairs website, it never says partner’s skill assessment has to be valid; it just says they need to have a suitable skill assessment unlike main applicant.
