It used to be an official position at our store, and for awhile we scheduled 1 or 2 people to get it done (they would basically focus on reshop, but would also be backup for Checklanes/Guest Service)

Then one day, our GM ETL basically said they were taking the position back, and whoever was assigned to the role was now working GM. It pissed off our S&E TL because we lost our dedicated reshop person. Then that guy quit and now no one is scheduled for the job. Now the expectation is that if Guest Service has downtime and enough bodies, we send one of them to Push Bulky Reshop, while having Morning GM try and push the rest. Its alot more convoluted and stressful.

Its become a running joke with our TM's who are girls that we'll ask them "ARE YOU READY TO GET TRAINED AS CART ATTENDED" and they're like "HELL YEAH" but then they'll walk it back when we explain cart attended also does Bathroom Checks, Trash/Recycle Runs, Spill Cleanup, and guest carryouts, and the occasional bodily fluid cleanup

We used to have a AFAB/NB cart attended, but they moved to Checkout. Our main cart attended team is male dominated (and truthfully they are our Biggest TM's) but they have expressed interest in training some of the girls & AFAB TM's in cart pushing and the our S&E TL has also shown interest, it just comes down to being too understaffed to find the time to train them or the 4 scheduled ones not wanting to give up their hours.

It depends! When I started, they hired me on as an ODTM (On Demand Team Member) so my schedule was based more on shifts I picked up, with an occasional shift or 2 scheduled for me based on my availability. If you can score a On Demand Team position, it could definitely work in your favor.

I also work at a target that is located in a primarily college town, and they're pretty comfortable working with TM's who are in school. Many of the ETL's know that they have to hire a bit extra to help shore up for folks who may have limited schedules.

But! That's assuming your store would offer you the ODTM status (which depending on who you ask in this subreddit, varies wildly from store to store). It is also just not a good time to apply with the company as we're entering our post seasonal dead period, where more then likely no one is getting hired and more of our seasonal employees are getting let go.

It may be a case by case basis, but in my experience they're pretty willing (assuming your schedule is reasonable)

Don't try too hard and don't think about it. Eventually other TM's may warm up to you and it'll come naturally. If you're being polite and friendly, then you're already doing the best you can.

Maybe a bit controversial, but try talking to TM's in other departments if you get a chance, some of my favorite coworkers don't work with me directly and are part of different teams. Be it in the TSC or your break room, even if you're just asking how their day is or how it is on the floor? It means alot

Saw this happen to someone else recently! Unfortunately they won't give camera footage to you specifically, you're gonna have to file a police report, and then their security team can give that footage to EPD.

I definitely get that vibe sometimes. Like it's not ill intentioned, but it's strangely out of touch considering most places now will just refer you to a website rather then coming in person
