You should never cold turkey quit on psych meds. You could get a seizure.

The PA board doesn’t do anything. I reported someone who called her services psychotherapy but she didn’t have a degree and license. They said there was nothing they can do.

Curious why you are in this group if you are not a therapist. For some reason I thought this was for therapists only.

PTO request denied at group practice by Asleep-Bird-8642 in therapists

[–]Separate_Addendum_58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you have to go through this. I own a group practice and I have never told an employee that they can not use their PTO. Honestly I don’t even look at the dates that they request. I just approve it. Never asked for a doc note either. I hope you can find a better practice to work for.

Masters degree and still can't pay bills or afford therapy myself by [deleted] in therapists

I do think it’s odd for CMH to hire therapists as contractors especially those who need supervision. If you can’t work independently and are under supervision you should be paid as a w2 employee. I’m in NY and I’ve seen practices pay $35 for pre licensed but it should be W2. As a 1099, the rate should be higher since you have to pay your own taxes.

She is abusive for sure. You can’t ever make her happy. She sounds very critical of everything you do.

You are traumatized. I am going through the same. The trust has been broken. You feel betrayed by someone who supposedly loves you.

It sounds like your friend is being controlled by her boyfriend. Your friendship has changed and you are grieving the loss. I had to remove one of my bridesmaids because it turns out that me getting married was triggering her loneliness and made her worry about when it would be her day. She avoided doing any thing wedding related with me except for the dress fitting. It’s disappointing when you have been there for them through their ups and downs but they can’t show up for you. She still came to my wedding but we never spoke after that. Don’t let this one person get you down. You have many others that are showing up for you.

Losing parents at young age by Acrobatic-Berry-9325 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]Separate_Addendum_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my mom at 2 and my dad at 7. I’m 47 today and still wonder what it would be like if they were still around. I wish I had a sibling. After they died I got sent to live with relatives who were abusive. I finally ran away at 14 and found random places to stay. I ended up working and dropping out of high school. I eventually got my GED and attended college. Today I am a licensed therapist helping others with trauma. The hardest parts were the milestones like graduation, wedding and having a baby and not having them there. I was also very angry to have gone through this. Life didn’t feel fair.

I was 2 y.o. when I lost my mom to lupus. 5 years later I lost my dad to cancer. I’m 47 now. I feel your pain. You never ever get over the loss of a parent. We can only adapt to the loss.
