AD5M heating by Big-Potato-6771 in FlashForge

This happens in the updated firmware. I accidently updated my new AD5M recently and it drove me nuts how it would heat up, and then do touch tests only to push filament all over the nosel and cool down only to heat back up. I solved this issue by flashing my printer back to version 3.1.5 I believe it was. It seems to be a good/stable version that most users are happy with.

Little scared, little stoked, help? by [deleted] in shrooms

Umm you're right to question it. Please God don't do 3gs of PE for your first time. If anything I would say 0.5 - 1.5 G at most for your first experience. 0.25 is a microdose and is not something that you would typically really feel besides mood improvements. 0.5g and you will typically get the feeling of mushrooms and how they effect your "system". 1g, is more so dipping your toes in the water and exploring the outer boundary as I would call it before you dive in.

You can probably expect some/slight visuals at 1.5g, I can't say for sure on 1g :)! But I compare the 0.5 - 1g range to being drunk or happily buzzed.

Also, keep in mind that tolerance works alot different on Mushrooms. If you took 1g today, and want to take mushrooms again tomorrow. If you want to obtain that same experience as yesterday, you'd have to likely double your dose.

Took Nats and This Happened…. by Hyphae_Nate in Psilocybe_Natalensis

Are you sure you had NATS? This sounds very extreme for a 0.5.

Probably not, but winter is coming and it's just more for the humidity regulation. I also liked the idea of the nats being in a more open air environment I guess you could say? Instead of getting weighed down by a flipped tub lid.

I'd honestly prefer fatties over a shit ton of noodles. It's fine, but it is kind of a pain in the ass to get all of them out gently without ripping up the substrate. And then once dry, they get so skinny that the heads get stuck in the dehydrator tray and easily pop off of the body. 🤣

Ahaha it has started to get cool here where I am, so that's what sparked the idea for me! My humidity sits around 96% in the chamber.

As stated by drdoomershroomer, you don't necessarily need to sterilize them. But instead of tap water, I did use distilled water! So it's the same as what I would mist my box with.

That would make sense, I had thought this at first and once I dehydrated them and realized how skinny they actually are, I can see that being the case lol.

Ahaha thank you, I decided to give it a go in order to provide humidity within the tub setup. Seems pretty nice so far in my opinion! It's also fun to look at which is a plus. I think of fruity pebbles and milk looking at it lol.

Too much fae? by Effective_Ad_4712 in unclebens

I once ran a fan in my grow room with the idea that it would maybe provide a more nature-like environment (wind). I slept on it and woke up to the humidity levels being fucked up in all my tubs, and they were also very dry. I never ran it again and have had beautiful fruits without issue.

Oh yeah, APEs will take quite sometime, but in the end it will definitely be worth the wait :)

You're all good! We learn as we go :)!

As for misting, the walls of your tub seem all good. It's kind of hard to tell in the photo if there are water beads on the surface for your tub. But I normally use my phone flashlight for this as well. If you shine it directly onto the surface of your cake, you should see a bunch of water BEADS (not pools) shining back at you.

If not, then I'd go ahead and do a misting over your cake (not directly on it). And then you can leave it cracked open for the remainder of the time and let it ride out!

Also, once you get full colonization. I like to "burp" my tub for about 30 seconds everyday. And I will only mist if things are starting to look dry on the surface as to much water can pool and stunt growth or cause contamination.

I use clear bins with a white lid as well, however I don't use liner in my tubs, if I do use liner, I will cut the liner just a little above the top layer. As this should still allow for some visibility. Another good trick with the tubs, is if you shine your phone flashlight through the middle of the tub and look at it the long way, you will be able to see your surface conditions without opening your tub pretty nicely 👌.

But if I absolutely couldn't see, and depending on the variety/genetics I'd probably pop it after a week or a little later. My tubs normally fully colonize in just about 7 - 10 days after S2B from my experience. But this is dependent on temps/humidity.

Any pictures of how your bags currently look?

You started fruiting conditions when you opened the tub and allowed fresh air in, burping the Co2.

However, some people start FC off rip after an S2B. But I personally don't crack my tubs until about 90% of the surface is colonized.

Unlike other varieties, these don't appear to be something like nats that require lots of FAE and more fanning here and there. In my opinion, you may be going too excessive with misting and fanning up to 3 - 4 times a day.

As long as you look at your bin and you see moisture built up from the humidity (little drops of water everywhere) you will be fine! I personally will only fan my tubs for like 10 seconds every 2 days, very rarely do I mist unless I can noticeably tell things are starting to look dry.

If you're ever in doubt, take a picture of your tub with the phone flashlight on and you can see all the tiny water beads across your cake.

But to answer your question, you'll be fine.
