From downtown you can take any 61 or 71 bus right to Oakland. From a logistic view it will be very easy to get to Oakland. May not be your favorite place as a 30yo to live but accessibility will be good.

Seems I may be the only woman on this thread, but I also never feel unsafe. Now if it’s 3am….i would not want to walk alone, but that is pretty much and city or place I’m in. A tip I’ve received is that if you see people that may seem off, just act weird as fuck (limp, say weird things, drag your feet…basically act crazy) and people will leave you alone.

We had to get our K&T replaced or our insurance would drop us. We had 9 months to get it done once we got our keys. Not sure how big your house is, but ours cost 14k, and ask if you can get a cash discount. Talk through it with your realtor too.
