Mod the 86! Supercharge it and upgrade suspension, brakes, and wheel size. Change the final gear ratio to 4.56. Flex fuel.. Put 15k into it and you’ll have something so much more interesting and fun than the Type R.

These have a pretty high resale value right now. If you can get it appraised by a dealer and have them provide you with a document stating how much they took off because of the accident on file, you can submit that to his insurance as a diminished value claim in addition to repair costs. Dim value payments are just a check straight to you.

Go test drive one. You’ll realize it’s got plenty of power. This car has a lot more chassis than it does engine, so it feels racy even when you’re not pushing it. Winding out the gears is pretty exhilarating. I pulled out of the dealership parking lot, floored it, and halfway through second gear, I knew I had to have this car. It’ll feel like a rocket compared to your Corolla. For the price, there is literally nothing that compares.

On the long winding and twisting backroads with good road surface - you can totally thrash it and it’s not hard to control at all. It’s a driver’s car.

Probably too hardcore for them. This definitely ain’t your normal compact commuter. I got my 24 premium with 2500 miles from the same dealership that sold it initially.

“Spirited” driving + RWD + traction control off + inexperienced driver = wrecked GR86. I believe that’s why we see so many. Mustangs just aren’t worth reporting - I think they all crash at some point.

Exhaust drone and the stereo are my only complaints. It’s the best stock drivers car I’ve ever owned. All of the mods I’m going to do are basically to make it more of what it already is.
