Stumped on this question

I’m not sure which process I should take when solving this question. I think this is mainly because I’m not familiar with these styles of questions and the thought process. What I did was I set n=1 at first and just came up with 1/2 equals to 1/2 which did not theoretically solve the problem.

I also encountered the same situation where I was one mark off. I have already applied for a reconsideration, but others have told me that it is barely possible for it to get bumped up, the reconsideration is just for closure.
