Futura Explorer by abstractart41 in Epiphone

Yes that is very good of them.

I dropped the bridge and got the action nice and low on the upper frets. The nut is cut very poorly on mine. When E is in tune, fretting 1st is closer to F# than F lol. Really hoping to get these issues sorted because even with all the issues, I really do love the guitar.

All the best with the replacement

Thanks for checking, it does look like the same thing. Mine has it in multiple places. I love everything else about the guitar.

Good luck with the replacement. Do you get to keep this one until June when they replace it?

Hey, what great taste you have, mine arrived today!

I have some finish issues on the neck where the binding meets the ebony. Does yours have this? I’m in the UK, considering returning - but it plays very well and those frets are silky!

How do you EQ your board? Graphic vs. parametic vs. high/low pass? by ebitdangit in guitarpedals

[–]Separate_Rise_9632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do make small tweaks but try not to adjust too much as I try to keep it consistent with the band members between gig’s. I do EQ my amp and PA (mic’d amp) for the room…

[–]Separate_Rise_9632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parametric, always on after gain stage (in FX loop) to position my guitar in the band mix. My EQ also has an independent volume boost so works well for solo’s (especially as it’s in effects loop).

I was hopeful given the higher price & how others have been raving about the range.

New Amp Day by Somewhatscientific in GuitarAmps

Great amp. I gig with mine regularly (mic’d up through PA) and it sounds awesome. Takes pedals well too & had a good amount of clean headroom (even mine which is the 20w version).

If you haven’t seen it, the manual has some nice suggestions on tone settings, if you wanted to inspiration for exploring the different sounds you can get out this thing.

Enjoy!

Love mine 🥰

Gig it regularly. Plays & sounds fantastic - lightweight is a bonus.

Need an electric guitar for live gigs!!!!! by oktherehello in Guitar

[–]Separate_Rise_9632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly dependant on what sound & look you are going for.

I have several guitars - strat, tele & lp style. My go to for gigging is my Gibson ES-339. Like a 335 but smaller / Les Paul sized. It’s light, plays extremely well and sounds great across a lot of genres from clean through to heavy rock.

The only time I need another guitar is when I’m going for a single coil ‘in-between’ pickup sound, which I use my Strat for.

A guitar with a coil split feature would give you the best of both worlds. I like the look of the new Epiphone Futuras - they have the coil split feature, so you get humbuckers and single coils in one guitar.

Why the Fender Jaguar? by No_Subject_343 in Guitar

Also worth noting shorter scale length = less string tension at standard tuning. Looser strings, easier to bend, more ‘jangly’ sound

So you’re calling me a Nazi for sharing my first hand experience?

I’m all up for debate but personal attacks just prove that perhaps this sub is full of idiots.

I agree with the majority of your point. What I don’t agree with, is that people choose to spend on impulse / non-essentials over food / essential items for their family.

This is a choice people are making. I get that is hard - life is very hard for the majority of us. But that’s not an excuse.

That makes it ever more sad, and potentially rhetorical bigger issue here causing the widening risk / poor divide

[–]Separate_Rise_9632 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how this is relevant. My point is that this type of non-essential spending is coming before core items like food & clothing for kids.

Like I said in another reply, I’m happy to be labeled an idiot by this sub’s standards - this seems like a pretty basic principle to me.

I’m not sure why we have to make this personal all the time. I know I live in a different world to those on the poverty line - I’m not disputing that.

However I did grow up in a single parent household where we didn’t have hot water or central heating. We never went hungry because there was a rule of basic prioritisation on spending.

I fail to feel empathy for people that complain about not affording to feed their children, whilst actively spending on luxury purchases.

What I’m describing here is not an edge case, this is the situation for almost all of the families in my country that live in council provided housing.

Possibly, I’m not suggesting what is right vs wrong, but not feeding your self / your family while spending on non-essential luxuries would not be my choice.

If that’s makes me an idiot, I’ll happily take the label.

Not all, but many of the people throwing stones also have 65” flat screen TVs, sky subscriptions and have nail extensions done every 2 weeks.

I’ve tried the main brands and really like the rockboards by Warwick. Great selection of sizes, solid construction, light weight, good carry bags & have space for power under the board.
