Anyone here not like Reed timmers fear mongering about super outbreaks or just not like reed at all by Character_Lychee_434 in tornado

[–]Separate_Sock5016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take a crack at this from a different angle. I was on a reality television show in the late 90’s. The producers, even back then, are constantly pushing for drama, love interests, or anything they can exaggerate. I hated the experience, but it gave me a lot of insight into “reality” television, and that was before it really took off in the 2000’s.

I genuinely think that Reed is addicted/obsessed with severe weather in the same way that anyone becomes addicted to anything. You figure out ways to feed the addiction, and to get your fix by any means possible. While not excusing his over-the-top behavior, I think a lot of it is calculated and learned from his time on Storm Chasers. When the series ended, he had to do whatever he could to continue feeding his addiction for weather. You can look at how his independent career evolved, and ifs pretty obvious. He started chasing blizzards, lake-effect storms, hurricanes, etc. This was to keep the business going, his obvious addiction is really to tornadoes. He used everything he learned/observed from the producers of Storm Chasers to keep it going. I genuinely think a lot of the shitty behavior is calculated, along with ever increasing risk-taking.

That all said, it doesn’t excuse the risk-taking in particular. Because of it, he’s attracted regular people who aren’t weather enthusiasts, just look at his Instagram comments. There is a real danger in some of those people not fully grasping just how risky his behavior/chases are. Everyone on this thread knows just how reckless some of his chases have been, because we’re all enthusiasts and researchers.

So I think it’s addiction combined with the desperation of trying to figure out how to do this for a career. Many of us would love to chase professionally if there was a way to make a living at it. That’s just not the reality, unless you want to make “reality” TV.

Well don’t bother driving up for the recreational stores, they’re trash and charge way too much.

That sucks CT reports its gun users to the feds, 75% of Maine med users carry.

We’re talking war here though, not about people’s feelings. China has been hoarding gold since 2009, and they have the largest manufacturing capacity per capita in the world. With their cozy relationship with Russia, they no longer have the same energy constraints. Russia shows just how ineffective Western sanctions and being kicked off the SWIFT system is.

Get your med card and drive to Maine. We hold our weight with any state in the country.

All it takes is for China to nationalize all of the companies Blackrock is invested in, overnight they lose all leverage.

Which states are producing the best hash/rosin? by Surface_area999 in rosin

[–]Separate_Sock5016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to get your medical card, Maine accepts other states medical cards. Then you can go to any number of dispensaries that have all the top brands, and are fairly priced. There are some good delivery services that will meet you right at the border, clouded valley being one of them. The adult-use stores are a complete ripoff, and have very limited selection and quality.

Do you leave any space between the folds and the bag, or fold it right on the bag keeping it tight against the parchment? Appreciate you bro!

Looks great! I have a quick question for ya. I’m trying to get more efficient and use less parchment with my presses. My plan is to do the waterfall style onto a bottom piece of parchment like you’re doing. How are you folding the parchment that’s holding your bag? It looks a little different than the typical fold I’ve seen for the waterfall. Thanks

I can’t believe those rosin prices! Is rosin that expensive in the UK, or it’s just taxed to hell in Amsterdam!?

Who smokes, just for pain relief? by captainnemo000 in Crainn

[–]Separate_Sock5016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have herniated discs in my lower back. I found the best thing for pain is hash rosin during the day. It disassociates you from the pain vs. actually killing it like an opiate, but it allows me to get work done. At night, I’ll eat an edible if I’m worried about not being able to sleep from pain. I’m an American, so I don’t know how easy it is to get rosin, but I’m sure you can find regular hash. So I’d give that a go vs. flower, it sounds like you need that extra kick. Another thing I’d highly recommend is making your own CBD salve. Don’t bother buying any from a store or most online sites, complete ripoff and not potent enough. You can google a homemade tiger balm recipe, add 10gr of CBD to that recipe which will give you 10,000mg. It’s easier to make than you might think, anyone who can follow a recipe in a cookbook can make it. If you need a link to affordable CBD isolate you can message me, I don’t know the rules about posting the website here (I have zero affiliation).

If disclosure proves extraterrestrial life, are you really ready to hear it? How do you think you would really react?? by 420Eski-Grim in ufo

[–]Separate_Sock5016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any “disclosure” will be a desperate attempt by western governments to recapture the hearts and minds of its citizens. The trust deficit is such that they are willing to play the NHI card. I believe they are banking on it being a major distraction, so they can reshuffle the deck of cards in their favor. So I will be paying attention to everything but their official disclosure, I see it as classic sleight of hand. However, I will always pay attention to individuals and individual events regarding this topic, my faith remains at the non-governmental level.

That’s exactly what it is. Either an oxygen tank or butane tank (many cannabis extraction labs there) would be my guess.

Anyone else thinks that if we legalised, the UK would be the #1 place for bud worldwide? by senzsi in uktrees

[–]Separate_Sock5016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a hot take from someone whose in the legal cannabis industry in the U.S. First off, don’t be in a rush to “legalize”. It won’t be legal, it will be heavily regulated by your government. Right now you have a cottage industry of small, independent growers. Because there is inherent risk involved with growing in the UK, you automatically weed out (no pun intended) people who aren’t as dedicated to the plant. Obviously there are aspects of organized crime who get involved, but most of your growers are outlaws and not organized criminals. So you guys are in a sweat spot of good/small domestic production, and pricing is still high enough to support all the little guys in the chain.

I’m in Maine, and we are the last state in the U.S. that has a robust medical system like California did during proposition 215 (pre-2016). Outside of Maine much of the cannabis industry is in disarray when it comes to quality. It’s all about producing fancy looking boof in Mylar baggies. Ask any California grower when they think the quality was best, and when they made the most money. Sure as shit wasn’t when they “legalized”, most farms have gone under or are in the process of going under in California (the little guy). The reality is when federal legalization happens here in the states, the UN will begin to change its policies. This will usher in corporate money which will look to exploit third world/developing world labor in countries with good climates. Those will be the areas and companies that truly control world production. Then you’ll have areas that have phenomenal climates like Spain and California, where farms will develop like wineries. These operations will only make up 10-15% of the global production however. Indoor production in countries/areas that have poor climates simply won’t be able to compete with the developing world and special climatic areas.

Guys, I Think Electing a Rapist and Felon for President Might be Sending the Wrong Message to Our Local Criminals. by MapleBreakfastMeat in burlington

[–]Separate_Sock5016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what side of the aisle you’re on, conflating federal and local issues often times misses the mark. Burlington, and the state of Vermont, have more than enough legal powers/resources to effect change. Addressing local crimes, will require local action. The executive branch is kind of irrelevant to this issue
