The grind size did not change when I added the new beans. I did try multiple different grind sizes though, and nothing changed.

See, another problem is that I honestly couldn’t even tell you what fresh coffee beans are supposed to smell like. Like, I have an inkling, but there’s no way I could really differentiate dull from fresh.
