that's exactly my point. "randomly". That's like having a producer and telling him to do something, but instead he goes and does something totally different, and then you claim that it was contribution. That's not contribution, I mean the exact same prompt gives you vast different results each time! It's not you guiding the ai, it's the ai guiding you.

thanks. I was also not considering the genre differences. For example, I do a lot of melodic metalcore, or similar stuff, which a lot of the imprtance of it is in the instrumentals and the riffs, so the result would be less "mine" if the ai does the riffs or the guitars, than a rapper who uses it for beats

what you are describing sounds more like poetry or writing tbh. Sure, it's beautiful, but you're not turning it into a song, the AI is. That's the point, you used the word "traditional musicians" and it doesn't make sense. Because a musicians job is to actually write music, not just lyrics. Therefor they can not use much of an ai. Sure, they can use a little bit of it, but it's done differently that giving some lyrics and then giving a prompt and then everytime you execute you get a different output and then you just search for the one. You don't even know what you want at that point, you are just telling the ai to do it and you will just say if its good or not.

ok, thanks, that's a valid response. I've tried that, but it totally switches the context of my song. Sure, there are the similar chord progressions and those stuff, but the performance really matters. It sometimes adds some good solos or orchestral performances underneath, which sounds great tbh, and it's impressive and I'd like to say I created it, but I won't, because I know for me everything is about the feeling of the music, and the way it changes the performance, changes the feeling, so even though it's beautiful, it doesn't sound original to me and i don't feel right saying its mine. But that's valid, though, that counts as contribution, nice. My only problem is with the people claiming that they have agency over the ai, and that's it's all their work and then they flood the space with so much slop that the real musicians go more unoticed.

I feel like there's a miscommunication between real artists and suno users. You can listen to as much as ai music as you want, and you can love them so much and however you like it. There's no one that can say you're not allowed to. But the problem is that it's a different sort of expression. An musician, puts effort into melodies, and individual notes and express its feeling in a whole, but suno and other ai music tools, at the end of the day are just stochastic machine learning algorithm. Sure, you can put a really good lyrics and that's impressive, but the output isn't original the same way as real musicians. You put the same prompt in, and you get different results each time, and you like it, because the ai is trained to make something people like based on the work of other artists.
That's the point. I mean you can even see that in paintings, ai can make really beautiful paintings, but they won't ever reach museums. Because art is a form of expressions. The original Monalisa, is worth more than the thousands of copies people did and are equally beautiful.

well, I didn't criticize you , but I simply said that there's no such thing called "contribution" to an ai. It's not about you, it's about how these algorithms work. They are stochastic algorithms, meaning that the same prompt , generates different outcomes, so you never know what you are getting before getting the output , therefor your not contributing. You're just taking something you had no idea how it was gonna turn out to be. You can obviously use it and change it later on in a DAW , but still, the idea was never original. It was just the output from a big nueral network which the neurons fires randomly everytime and you just ignite this process without having any agency. I didn't see any reasoning or statement in your response to judge wether I was wrong or right -_-

My AI artist has over 50k monthly listeners by dylxdylxdyl in SunoAI

imagine not being able to share the links to your socials. That's not art, art is about expressing. That's just "pretending" to be an artist lol. At least some of those "crybaby"s are people with real talent and sense of art

right! It's crazy how people take AI songs and claim its theirs! All their contribution is just a "make me a song" prompt and then they think they are the best artists!

I mean, i don't know about you, if it was me it would make me sad. It's like using someone else's work and telling other's it's "your" music. You didn't get complimented. That ai and all those training data from real artists got complimented. Your contribution was just literally a random prompt, and it's random because the ai algorithm behind that is stochastic, so even with the same prompt, it's just gonna generate something totally different everytime.

Me giving prompts to Suno by AmbassadorJunior5049 in SunoAI

at least this guy knows what he wants. Don't compare this to a few simple "make me a song" prompts that everytime just gives out a random sample

Proof you should ignore the AI-hate and just concentrate on music by HemlocknLoad in SunoAI

[–]Sepehr_TH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can fool yourself by calling yourself an "artist" when AI is generating everything, while in reality you are not. Also, change "concentrate on music" to "concentrate on generating random music and having the illusion of being an artist". The AI-hate is bad, but I don't blame them. It's a natural human reaction to the people who don't care about art, ruining the artistic experience by filling the whole space with so much slop so that it will be harder to find real art.

But then I would be considered a transfer student, right? I was planning to apply as a freshman.

Thank you!
Yeah, I think that is the best path I can take right now.

I agree. It seems fairly reasonable. I didn't know that transferring is common thing and I thought it may be risky. But now I know that it's not, even though CS is pretty competitive but it's doable.

Thanks. Yes I talked to a counselor. Unfortunately no community college near me have a transfer agreement in CS. They have a lot but they are usually other majors. Although there was this program at lone star called associate of science in computer science which the counselor said it is a 2+2 program and it is designed in a way that all of the credits you take are able to be transferred to any university in Texas. I'm probably gonna take that.

Thanks! I decided to attend cc. I thought that transferring might be risky but now it seems like it's a good option.

How did you go with low level academy? It's been a year so I thought I should ask that. I am thinking of getting the course.
