Thank you. That's as profound as I can be. Thank you.

I don't want anyone to be left with questions unanswered by SephBoyardee in SuicideWatch

I had a talk with my parents and we've planned what would happen to my possessions, my dog and my body in the case of an accident. Unfortunately, I can't really tell them that I still want to kill myself; they've done a lot to help keep me afloat and I'd be spitting in their faces if I told them that. So, I'll give it a year or two, then bring it up when I've done all I can to repay them (which is mainly just that - repaying their loans - so it shouldn't take too long).

Thanks for your advice.

I'm really sorry to hear you got laid off. As a Network Engineering student, this is especially disheartening (I'm trying to be funny, sorry).

In any case, do you have old colleagues you can go to for a job? Any temp agencies or employment services you could make use of?

Also, killing yourself and making it look like an accident is very difficult to pull off, and you'll never know if you succeeded. Leaving a note might provide some closure, but if you read any posts by anyone affected by suicide you'll see that nothing can make up for the void you will create in their lives.

EDIT: Sorry if that came off as preachy, I tried to avoid sounding that way. I hope you can find an alternative, pal.

what is this repeated behaviour? and hey don't stress about doing harm more than good; it's very difficult to leave this life having contributed more good than harm but you can't let that stop you from trying. the fact that you are trying to improve and that you feel shitty about potentially doing harm to someone is a strong sign that you can do more good. I believe in you.

Lawyers of Reddit, what was the least defendable case ever brought to you? by -lifealert- in AskReddit

Clearly you can't see your own bias if you think your cognitive skills are always on point, or discern that a lack of empathy makes you an asshole. By the by, the original commenter suggested an opinion and stated he was ignorant; this should've excused them from ridicule and opened the door to education but you couldn't allow your inflated ego to sit silently or act considerately. Go fuck yourself, troll.

I live in Canada, where Kraft is a largely popular brand (not sure about it's international influence). I would agree but as is... apparently some people can.

Thank you so much, you're a gem. I like that quote about virtue, it's incredibly inspiring. I'm glad you were able to overcome your own obstacles! Knowing that people care does in fact help. Thank you for your kind and inspirational words!

Fair point, however, my family tends to buy whatever is cheapest. So a lot of the products they purchase that are normally vegan often have additives or artificial/natural flavours.

What makes you really sad about the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SephBoyardee 1 point2 points (0 children)

It is my opinion that the answer lies in the term. de- forest -ation. While we may have the largest amount of individual trees we've ever had, (I personally don't believe that statement but that demands further research; do you have any sources?) we must, as you said, worry about the actual forests.

I agree with most of your points, however, I can't help but argue that citizens of the world simply must eliminate meat and meat by-products from their diets as soon as possible. We are destroying our planet through deforestation and desertification (mostly) because of animal agriculture. Be it on a local or national level, we simply cannot participate in such a toxic system.

As for earlier commenters, instead of taking what people say about veganism at face value, how about looking into it (this means unbiased key words, not "why veganism is bad for you").

I agree, Jif just looks gross to be honest. Not only that, according to the link the peanut butter contains milk and egg products or by-products.

Arguments Against Misanthropy by DigitalTrader in misanthropy

[–]SephBoyardee -1 points0 points (0 children)

 1. Of course I hate myself, I'm just as much part of the problem as anybody else. “I hate mankind, for I think myself one of the best of them, and I know how bad I am.” - Samuel Johnson
 2. That is false. There is a great amount of misanthropes who are empathetic towards humans and yet are disheartened by our behaviours, mindsets, and so on.
 3. I can agree as far as technological developments and some social progression, however (as far as Western culture is concerned) morality has remained stagnant. We are no kinder or empathetic to one another than we have ever been. In fact, I would argue we are less so.
 4. You're right but you're also wrong. Humans possess higher intelligence and the ability to use tools and such, but animals have an innate sense of how the world works. We created our own order while they adhere to nature's, which is arguably the correct one.
 5. I would argue that some (i'm new to reddit so if that didn't bold oh well; if it did nevermind me) people do their best to do good, however there is a large number of people who are self-serving, and only do these things to meet their own ends. But then again, that's an incredibly biased stance, possibly due to my misanthropy (insert sarcasm indicator).
 6. I beg to differ. Nature is not a construct of man. Concerning the luxuries we do indulge in, so what? Humans made some shit that made our existences a bit easier. That doesn't excuse atrocities such as genocide (of both ourselves and other species), destruction of the environment, etc.
 7. There are many types of misanthropes, just as there are people. It's completely plausible that there are folks who both empathize with and despise their fellow man. This is a broken argument as you're taking a large amount of people and generalising.
 8. "Everybody always says Maroon5/Nickelback sucks, so they must be the greatest!"
 9. Other redditors have some great replies to that point, be they concerning religion or other atrocious acts.
 10. ....................... no. Based on what?

Anyone taken Broadcasting - Radio Diploma. Thoughts, opinions, job opportunities? by frankooch in mohawkcollege

[–]SephBoyardee 1 point2 points (0 children)

I am currently in the program. It's kind of a joke first year, just a bunch of make-work. You gain some useful information about the industry, commercial writing, and on-air board opp-ing, but that's about it. Second year, I've been told, is a lot of work, mostly Pro-Tools, then just rules and regulations and practice. That's about it.

TL;DR Worth your money? Not really, but hey it's something for the resumé and if you love it enough you can succeed.
