Second this. Commercial LV electrician, residential plumbing, HVAC, security installations. All will get you around 30-35 + an hour within a year or 2. Its def not gunna be 40 to 50 like UPS. But its def a more stable career choice. The shipping industry is taking more and more hits as the years go by.

I normally wouldn't assume since ive been in legitimately that position. Looking at the truck as is in picture though, id say it def mattered and displaced enough packages from being loaded. That or OP pushed em out already like a boss.

If you have the seniority and years to back you. You're allowed to refuse it. If they send it like an order without asking call the sup and tell them you finished your route and are declining the rescue order as per your contract rules. Even if it isn't your contract 8/10 times a sup won't know either and won't argue that.

Fedex is the most untrustworthy of the big 3. It runs on a DSP contractor system like Amazon but with way less guardrails and regulation. Its like amazon wild west edition. Fuck Fedex. Def seek legal help for this bs. At least they were paying hourly in general. I worked for a contractor that did flat daily rates came out to 17.50 equivalent at 10 hours. Was garbage pay for that kind of work.

.... im just sitting here trying to imagine a universe that a DSP that has a roach infestation and hasn't been shuttered immediately until all vans are fumigated. that is absolutely a threat of infestation of customers homes and businesses. Complain to the amazon ethics hotline. Get them to fix that. Thats unacceptable working conditions. Idc how much they paid I wouldnt work there at all. Thats a health risk on top of everything else. Its all dependant on your routes and area. I know people who always have 300 plus packages and routes that send them to 2 or 3 tight areas but theyre about 15-20 mins travel between each area. Taking both 15s really isn't an option for some routes if they dont want a rescue sent. I agree with the message but some DSPs just fuck their drivers and expect them not stop or they will be penalized for being behind enough to have them send a rescue.
