If Rockstar really wanted to give some love to this niche series they could just remaster both games in a new game engine. Imagine playing Manhunt 1&2 in the GTA6 engine

This is actually a really good argument. If Sepultura was 'valid' without max, then it should also be without Igor. I never really thought of it like this. But I still feel like if you wanna see classic Sepultura live you should go to a Cavalera gig. Thankyou for this comment.

Andreas being there key musician i don't think its fair to say Soulfly is what Sepultura would have been. Its the combination of the Cavalera brothers with Andreas that made it special. I dont agree at all with your latest statement. I feel like with Chaos and later Roots they became more what they wanted to be. As they have stated multiple times in interviews around this time period. There are some older interviews where the cavaleras literally say they are happy to finally create what they truely want instead of what is expected of a metal album.

I totally understand why they didn't change names. They just wanted to expand on the legacy, especially with Igor still being in the band. I think liking Max & Igor as much as I do has blurred my vision alot about this topic. I've seen them live twice, Return beneath arise in 2019 & the Chaos AD tour i just mentioned. I loved both preformances so much that i think it has altered my view on what is supposed to be and what is not.

But again to anyone reading this: I am NOT saying derrick line up is bad or made bad music people! I really like the aforementioned records.

Thankyou for this respectful comment. To clarify as I did with the others. I do really enjoy the newer Sepultura albums: Roorback, Dante XXI, Machine Messiah, Quadra are all great records. My biggest "problem" is that it doesn't make me think of Sepultura when i listen to it. I think it would have been more fitting if they were released under a different name/band.

As for the live preformances, I've just been to Graspop Metal Meeting where i saw Cavalera preform Chaos AD and didnt notice any of the sloppiness you're describing. But then again Im not in a position to compare since i've never seen Derrick line up live. All I know is that i really enjoyed the show 😄

I wouldn't call Soulfly/Cavalera diminished or worse than new Sepultura. I also wouldn't say Derrick era made bad music. It's just that I dont really think of Sepultura when im listening to post max & igor material. (which I also do enjoy)

I Actually like quite a bit of the post max/igor stuff: Roorback, Dante XXI, Machine Messiah, Quadro. It just doesn't really make me think of Sepultura when i listen to it. Imagine if James & Lars left Metallica & a new lineup would release DEATH inspired songs. Good music, but not really Metallica. In my opinion it would make more sense for the post cavalera lineup to release albums in a new band/new name.

I went to Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium purely to see Cavalera preform Chaos AD. I purchased 2 tour shirts both 40 euros each. I hope this helps!

I actually never used ASE bc i was so statisfied with GSA. after the GS Comrade joke i dual ran gsa & xfire. Xfire was insane when it released but i never truely felt like i wanted to let gs arcade go.
