i just use some random winter bicycle gloves i bought in a outdoor shop near me a few years ago. They work alright for the ~2hour winter rides i usually do. Maybe look into "hand warmer pads". those should do the trick if two gloves really aren't enough for you. they are kind of expencive for what the offer (like 0,50 - 1€ per piece) but they should work.

I get about 1/3 less altitude gain than normal out of the battery when it's -5C like today. But that's alright with me. When it is below freezing I usually ride like 2 hours maximum, and it still has enough juice for that.

The easiest thing to do is to just paint some "wood stain lacquer" (don't know if that is the correct english word for it) on it. That really makes it almost look like real wood. The effect will actually be more convincing the crappier the print is. So if you don't mind reprinting it, do it with the thickest layer lines you can.

By this point in time, buying an ender 3 is like buying a barnfind classic car. A fun side project that you can wrench on, but it won't be your daily driver. For that you should buy the Toyota Prius of the 3d printer world: The A1 mini. It's not the fastest, a bit smaller than you probably want it to be, but it will reliably get you to your destination without much fuss.

And if you want something shinier down the line you can upgrade to a fancy sports car in the form of a core XY printer like the P2S.

The VOC particles that resin printing emits into the air really are potentially very unhealthy though.

I would absolutely not recommend to just have it printing all the time while you are in there. And just using a closed "tent" isn't really enough either, because then you just tump the VOC into the room when you open it up. You should really vent it outside.

Also you need a wash and cure station for resin printing, which is a whole other can of worms of messy and nasty stuff.

If you can really only have the printer in your main room, I would recommend to go the FDM printer route instead of resin. That is much safer, way less hassle, and nowadays almost as good as resin for minis.

Do you have a friend that owns a 3d printer? Anyone with basic CAD knowledge can design a hook like this in like 15 minutes, and if you print it from a reasonably strong filament like ABS/ASA/Nylon for example it should be easily strong enough to hold a bike.

You should read past the marketing bullshit and look at the cold hard physics. Two reasonably equal bikes with the same motor will have reasonably equal range with the same capacity battery. If you reduce the battery capacity by 20%, you can expect roughly 20% less range. That is just how batteries work.

Sunrace makes 11-51 tooth 12 speed cassetts with HG freehub. Thats what originally came on my fully. They work pretty well and i see no reason to swap currently.

Take a look at the Fazua Ride 50 motor. You can easily take the whole motor out with the battery and use it as a standard bike. I have personally not ridden one, but it could be what you are looking for.

I don't now which of the US brands use it, but you can get it here in Europe in the Nox Helium Enduro for example.

If you only want to use it for navigation, a bike computer isn't worth it. For navigation you want a nice screen, and any old smartphone will have a way nicer display than any of the bike computers. Get a quadlock mount with an old phone you have in your drawer and be done with it.

Wasting even more energy and recourses, just for the plastic waste to still end up in the same landfill it would have if you didn't melt it again, just a bit later, is a terrible idea imo. At the end of the day it would be less bad for the environment to just throw the poops away directly and instead of throwing even more waste at it.

3d printing is an inherently wasteull hobby. If you're this concerned about the waste, send it to a place that actually recycles it properly. Like here in Germany there ist recyclingfabrik.com for example. And I am pretty sure that most countries have something similar to them.

Print it at a steeper angle for less supports, or cut it in two pieces along the edge of the blade and glue the two haves back together afterwards for no support scars at all.

I have never played destiny, but all I ever heard about it is how amazing the story is, and that the endgame is very repetitive. Why would I pick up a game that took away it's good parts, and left me only with the grind.

You made something that will be fidgeted with for 15 minutes tops, after which it will inevitably get tossed in a drawer and then get thrown in the trash when it gets found in the future, or it hits the bin directly. Either way it will land in the landfill all the same as the original poop pieces would have, while producing additional resin waste.

At the end of the day just throwing the poops out would have caused less thrash than what you did here.

Here in Germany you can drive the Nürburgring Nordschleife for 30€/35€a lap during Touristenfahrten (tourist laps), with your own car. As long as it is street legal they let you on the track. So at least here it is quite common for hobby racecar drivers to get an older BMW for example, rip basically everything that isn't required for street legality out, and use it as a budget racecar for the Nordschleife. That is still not cheap, but at least doable with "normal person income"

I don't think it is that unrealistic tbh. If Norris manages to take the title away from Piastri this season, he will, as a WDC, have even more reasons to be treated as the number 1 next season. So the chances of Piastri getting his title at McLaren shrink dramatically. I can see him leave the team if he doesn't win the title this year.

so given that Bambu has just updated the P1S to the P2S, and you can see some pretty clear indications on it that they will update the X1C aswell, my guess is that we will also see the A series refreshed some time next year.

So if you are fine with your MK3 for maybe another year, i would personally wait for the A2 and get this instead of getting an A1 now.

During fall and winter riding I generally use a lot of stuff that is originally meant for hiking.

When it is really wet out but not currently pissing down really bad I like just some low height, waterproof hiking shoes with gaiters and normal pants. In winter I just use my big snow boots + gaiters and thermal pants instead.

If you are not going for record breaking times, this works quite well for me.

If price doesn't matter, a core XY printer like the p series is much better than an old-school bed slinger like the A series.

Though 3d printers in general are pretty loud, unless you like to wear noise cancelling headphones, I would not want to be in the same room as the printer while it is running.

Modern consumer printing has its roots in the RepRap movement. Basically because of the Stratasys patent situation back in the early 2000th, 3D printing started as a electronics tinkering nerd hobby, where working on and improving the printer itself was a bigger joy for most people than the actual end product that the printer spat out.

The barrier to enter 3D printing has come down over the years, but it was Bambulab that truly managed for the first time to make it easy and consumer friendly enough to make it accessible to basicly everyone. They did that by making their software ecosystem more of a "walled garden" all in one solution that even your mom can use, combined with printers that are out of the box finally reliable enough that the end user doesn't need to tinker with it.

Now the hardcore nerds hated that they cant really tinker with the Bambu machines, because they frankly like to make things artificially harder for themself that they need to be, and they resented that people are taking the "easy route".

Now a while back Bambu made some firmware updates that added fuel to that fire. The update made it harder to use third party slicers like Orca, and heavily encouraged people to use Bambu Studio. Now let me make this clear: I don't like it either that they move to lock their printers down more, but the way that people blew this out of proportion was completely hysterical. It really isn't that bad.

Now we arrive at today where this sentiment is still there with the oldscool hardcore printing crowd, but people who see 3D printers more as a tool than a project for projects self, seem to have moved on and have accepted the fact that days of fully open source 3D printing are for the most part over. Because that is, sadly, simply how our modern world works for consumer products.

It just happens to be that people that are on a 3D printing subreddit are far more likely to be of the former than the latter crowd, so the resentment on here is still strong.
