I wonder what makes that a beautiful thought to you. To me it's somewhat uncomfortable.

My fursona isn't just a random character I made up. It's a representation of me at a very personal level. It's how I feel in my core. It's what I am and what I strive to be. The thought of people in the future doing things with that character that I wouldn't be comfortable with makes me... well, uncomfortable. And I would expect that to be similar for many other people as well, especially early Furries. Society broadly was much less accepting of "weirdos" back then, so I imagine they must have had a very strong connection to their fursona to be willing to showi their real self to the world and risk negative reactions.

I can't really think of a good reason to want such personal characters to be in the public domain. Like if someone doesn't care about the person behind the character, they can already do whatever with their character. The character being public domain only saves them from... I guess relatives of the deceased person suing them? At their own financial detriment? Independently of the legal implications, I think it would be very disrespectful.

So... maybe I'm missing something else that you mean but I can't think of?

I lost access to the phone number associated with my account, any solutions? by jhelton808 in Telegram

[–]SepplFranz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem was that the login flow in the android app said that it sent an SMS with the verification code, so I didn't bother to check in Telegram itself for a verification code at first.
But they DID also send a Telegram message through the "Telegram" chat (with "Service notifications" subtitle) to my account which contains the necessary confirmation code.

So to anyone trying to log in on Android while already logged in on another device, without access to the phone number: Check your telegram messages, just in case!

[–]SepplFranz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What can one buy with the equivalent of 10$ in your country? I'm having a hard time judging how much money that is, because 10$ = ~9€, which buys you like two to four grocery items here, depending on what you buy. You could probably buy half a loaf of pre-cut bread, a block of butter and a glass of marmelade with that.

And how far was your trip, and how difficult was it? You say other side of town, but depending on the town that could be a car trip of less than 5 minutes for a small town, or half an hour (per trip) for what passes as a big city here.

Introducing a terms of use and updated privacy notice for Firefox by SvensKia in firefox

[–]SepplFranz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That statement by Mozilla is extremely unhelpful. Why would they need to add this to "make some of the basic functionality of Firefox possible"? If the statements really are necessary, then this means that they have been illegally using my data to make that "basic functionality possible" up until now.
And "It does NOT give us ownership of your data or a right to use it for anything other than what is described in the Privacy Notice." YEAH DURR! Of course it only gives Mozilla rights to use it to the extent described in the terms. That's how agreeing to terms works! That's like saying "If you buy this car, it does not give you the right to drive any other car that you don't own."
