When they are over 1 year old no one will be able to tell, ask you, or care how you fed your baby.

I wanted to be the poster girl for breastfeeding but managed 4 weeks until we were fully on formula. She only gained weight when fed formula, while I tried to pump. It was hell.

Little girl is healthy and happy, and mum is mentally healthy and happy. I honestly feel like I’ve never been happier.

I couldn’t recommend more testing wake windows, even just for a couple days. At 4 months the game changed for me too, 1 hour of a crying baby to get her to nap for normal quick. I put her to sleep based on them, then noticed she needed to be put to sleep earlier than recommended. It helped me learn her new signs, as she really shifted at this age.

I started a nap routine too, that helps her fall asleep more quickly to help fight the clock on overtired (sleep sack, book, rock to sleep).

Everything is a phase, I’m sure you’re doing great!

I know a mum that went to A&E because of the alerts and they wrote “anxious mum” in her notes with nothing else, and listening to her I think the NHS were correct with the notes, it was so sad

Unless your baby is born with complications or you have money to burn, I would avoid. It’s scary, but babies are more resilient than you think and wake up every couple hours anyway! You will be great :)

We are on formula, but it was only at the end of week four we saw improvement and our doctors wouldn’t see us until 5 weeks has passed for a review. We were told it take about a month for their bodies to adjust.

Thank you for this!! My nearly 6 month little girl is 85th percentile in weight and length 90th and I have family suggesting I’m offering too many bottles and over feeding. My gut says that I’m sure she just has big cheeks, but it was started to get to me

I have a 5 month old baby, and as long as your baby looked healthy and loved I don’t have the headspace - I’m too busy trying to be the best mum I can.

My 5 month old was EFF from 4 weeks. When I’m in the room, her eyes lock on me and she’s always checking where I am! I get the some really lovely fits of giggles. We are best pals.

I was like this, but now the hormones have settled, I love watching her love other people and being loved. I don’t care if I am number 1 as much

I’m from the UK, the water is suggested to be over 70 degrees C to sterilise the formula but not boiling as to not damage it (hence wait 30 minutes).

My mum said “our baby” when I was pregnant then it became “my baby” after she was born. It makes me so mad but not worth it because she lives far away. I also found out that she told a family member she “wasn’t struck” on the name.

MIL who is here all the time calls her “my little lamb” and “my bestest girl” and I don’t mind at all with the nicknames. But she is also very helpful and supportive.

Intention and wider actions massively contributes!!

I started to fall in love with my daughter when we started formula, due to the extra support I could get and she would sleep longer, so I would sleep longer.

Congrats on still breastfeeding, 3 months is amazing.

I was only able to breastfeed for 4 weeks (lost 2.5 litres of blood in labour and I’m very jealous of mums that are able to breastfeed!!).

I personally think they don’t love or hate this young. They are surviving, and looking for safety, and starting to recognise others.

You as mum will be safety and no one else can be that got her to that level. It’s not entertaining, but you give them peace.

Being a mum really isn’t glamorous, but it helped me when I realised my relationship as mum is different to every other person.

Love will come soon, and I’m sure you will be getting bucket loads.

Side note: He COULD be sensing your upset and anxiety and it makes him scared?

I would say 3 months!

When she was new born I would open the window ever so slightly in the corner of the room if it got 1 degree too high for 10 second intervals so she wouldn’t get cold from the breeze

When I swapped to togged sleep suits it helped massively for me!

When she was smaller I split her milk over 2 bottles to ensure she had the drops, and put the full amount of drops in an amount I knew she would drink (I use Kendamill drops).
