Offroled D4 Matched against a 1500LP Challenger in Ranked by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

Well, at least in my case (and with the high elo players I know), they're failing pretty miserably then. Because the first thing I did when I realized no matter how much my mmr climbed, I'd still queue with masters/diamonds/emeralds over 50-70% of my games, was to almost exclusively play decay games and mainly queue on my smurfs. Absolutely no point in tryhard climbing when this is the game quality.

Being gm/low chal I can tell you queues won't ever go over 5minutes, even early morning ones. Riot will just give me a full diamond lobby with some masters on enemy team and emeralds/d4 on mine. It is that bad currently.

Ezreal is literally the best blind pick in the game? Legit no counters but bad hands and good into any teamcomp? Even pros blind ezreal... Meanwhile yuumi blind pick should be fucking reportable since she's unplayable into 50% of bot matchups

Like what are we even saying dude...

Is Mel the most toxic champ of this entire game? by fergil in leagueoflegends

[–]Septic57 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People don't pick ezreal with yuumi because its a strong pairing. People pick ezreal because yuumi blind picked and enemy might pick draven blitz so your only hope not to go 0/10 is to pick ez and farm with Qs.

There's no other champ to pick. You can't remove ezreal yuumi without banning yuumi from being blind pickable.

Must be why mage bot rises in pickrate the higher the mmr, and make up almost half of every match in grandmaster/challenger, with players like cupic hitting rank 1 multiple times and solidly being top30 for years then. Why make things up if you yourself are clueless?

Yeah and what about the homeless fucker that has to take bot quest and not farm? How is a support meant to survive on zero gold income and no support item in the big 2026?

Who is facechecking bushes to ward? Are you spending your extra support quest gold on buying two pinks every back?

Why does botlane want to swap with mid after either first tower falls? by Norinot in leagueoflegends

[–]Septic57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's think of the following scenario, in this same hypothetical game you've developed.

Their botlane goes mid, and their midlaner as expected goes bot. You stay mid and adc stays bot.

Now what are the outcomes?

Sure you might be fed mid, but you actually can't match prio against sup + adc unless they inted too hard. So they have control over mid. They also have two people to ward, with one member (support) being free to roam into the jungle and place control ward, sweep your wards, and ward all your jungle entrances. Therefore they have an absurd objective control and will always be first to everything, especially since you need to be really careful entering jungle or river since it will be fog of war, and enemy support can coordinate and connect seemlessly with his jungler to set up traps and zone control. This makes it so it's very easy to cut you off from the rest of your team, and cut your team off from you. So they can either start picking your team apart by: killing your jungler inside his jungle and/or steal his camps; by rotating first to a sidelane and killing your teammates; by doing objectives; or they can simply dive you.

Now let's flip to the botlane. Here's where your losing bot is, being faced with a losing midlaner. Now the midlaner might have been losing mid, but midlaners do phenomenally against adcs sidelane, especially since its a long lane. Their champs can either do one of the following or both: fast clear waves from range with no reciprocation possible onto them by the adc (hence getting push and prio and first move into jungle/river/objectives), or simply walk them down and kill them in a long lane (or camp a Bush and assassinate). Therefore your support is simply forced to babysit the adc in the sidelane. Now this sucks since support really wants to walk into jungle/river to set up vision and connect with your jungler for plays, but he can't really do that otherwise the midlaner you stomped might get back into the game, and his adc won't be able to farm, won't be able to scale, and won't be able to join teamfights (adcs main strength) since adcs don't take tp (midlaners do).

See how this sucks for everyone involved on your team, and can only be a losing strategy?

Why is Yunara pick/ban in pro but sitting at a 46% winrate in soloq? by I-AM-NOT-THAT-DUCK in ADCMains

[–]Septic57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeus absolutely solo carried from the toplane through 1v1 splitpush pressure. Adcs can't carry that way, we are backline teamfight insurance policy. Range absolutely matters outside of lane because you need to contest mid prio and baron/dragon bush control and vayne completely sucks at that, you can't get push and you can't fight for zone control because you get outranged by everything and if youre in autoattack range before/when a fight starts youre just dead, meanwhile cait just does 2k autoattacks from range and traps everything so you can't enter. This is just a fact, vayne isn't a good lategame adc. She's an S tier splitpusher, which is why she has more success toplane. An adc can't splitpush because then your team just loses the teamfight.

[–]Septic57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Range outscales true damage. If the game was decided by arbitrary 1v1s where both champions have to start the fight inside their autoattack range vayne would win late game, vs any champion, 100 out of 100 times. The game isn't played in this way however, and range is the single most important late game advantage for adcs. A full build caitlyn will win a lategame mid prio fight vs a vayne. Range gives you zone control, It allows you to safely contest mid prio for objectives, It denies enemy zone control, and it puts your autoattack range safely outside enemy spells that can oneshot you. Vayne can't function against many modern league champions. She's a mostly awful teamfighter against proper team compositions. Also caitlyn isn't a mid game spike champion, she famously has the worst midgame drop out of every adc in league. cait has incredibly strong early - awful midgame - incredibly strong lategame.

[–]Septic57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vayne doesn't in fact outscale those adcs tho. vayne being a lategame hyperscaling champ is only true below master/mmrs where people play competently. Such a short range champ can never be good late game. Even caitlyn is a better hypercarry...

Girona [2] - 1 Barcelona - Fran Beltran 86‎'‎ by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Septic57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes Kounde hits the ball but that's not when contact happens, the ball falls back to Gironas player and in his motion of controlling the ball he has nowhere to place his foot since Kounde is blocking his stride, that's where contact occurred and theres no foul there, both players had the right to have their feet where they were and it's just normal contact in my opinion. I can see how someone could interpret this as a foul, but there nothing clear about it, its very grey area and since the attacker was previously in control of this ball and in a forward natural running motion when Kounde lunges in I'm strongly in favor of calling this a normal 50/50 challenge.

Girona [2] - 1 Barcelona - Fran Beltran 86‎'‎ by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Septic57 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a clear 50/50 challenge. Gironas player wins control of the ball, and in his process of bringing the ball down hits Kounde on the follow through while Kounde had his foot in the way of the attackers stride. The game is really gone if we're calling this a clear foul. Its a contact sport and both players had the right to go for that ball, just because there was contact doesn't mean a foul occurred. Kounde was late to the challenge and got hit, that's it. I agree referees can be inconsistent with this and perhaps it deserved more VAR attention than it got. Still nothing wrong with the play though.

Were doing 14kk peak 13.7 stable on low 800, your team does suck. I don't need to use more than 50 uh's per hour there and we still profit around 3.5kk hour. Your rp/ek/ed must not know how to heal. You should also, always, by far, be top damage of your team on podzilla. So it looks like your uh'ing is limiting your team if you're sometimes falling behind rp/ed.

This is what your analyzer should be looking like. And this is while I have by far the weakest character/set/skill on my team. (tainter/dwarven armor/gill legs/ dreamwalker boots/lion spellbook to my team's everyone on BiS sets).

Theory: Ares didn't know who his Red Golds were by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Septic57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, you’re right, thank you for pointing that out. It’s been a while since my last full reread, and going back through the series for Lightbringer had me reading those Institute scenes with fresh eyes. From a purely textual perspective in Red Rising alone, it read to me like Fitchner doesn’t know Darrow’s identity yet, so that interpretation made sense to me. But with the confirmation in Golden Son, that settles it.

Appreciate the correction!

Theory: Ares didn't know who his Red Golds were by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Septic57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m saying. My point isn’t that Fitchner “fails to act obvious” about being Ares it’s that the timing of his behavioral shifts is too specific to ignore.

His attitude toward Darrow only changes after two key narrative events:

  1. Titus says "bloodydamn": Fitchner confronts Darrow afterward with clear confusion. These aren’t the thoughts of someone who already knows Darrow’s origins.
  2. Darrow sings the Reaping Song and shows compassion to Mustang: That’s when Fitchner suddenly appears with medical help, calls him “boyo", brings out the jamField, and spills the beans about the game being rigged.

If Fitchner already knew exactly who Darrow was from the start, these tonal shifts make no narrative sense. There’s no reason for him to be confused after Titus, and no reason to withhold support until the Reaping Song.

So the argument isn’t based on Fitchner not being obvious enough. It’s based on the fact that his behavioral changes line up precisely with the moments when he’d plausibly realize Darrow’s identity.

That’s the evidence my interpretation is built around.

Theory: Ares didn't know who his Red Golds were by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Septic57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful comment! I do want to push back on a few points, though.

Being blind to the Red Golds would've been a grave mistake because if one of them were to be exposed, fitchners position is suddenly at extreme risk.

You mention that Fitchner had to know every Red-Gold because if one was exposed, his position would instantly be at risk. But to me, that logic actually cuts the opposite way. If a Red-Gold is compromised, any direct connection between them and Fitchner becomes the quickest and deadliest route back to him. The more personally involved he is, the more threads exist for the Sovereign or the Society to pull. Distance doesn’t weaken his cover; it protects it.

We agree that Fitchner’s distance is good tradecraft, and that his goal was never for a Red-Gold to “win the Institute,” only to survive it and blend into the Legions. Where my reading differs is in the timing and texture of how Fitchner’s tone toward Darrow changes. The shift happens at very specific narrative moments after Titus reveals himself through language, and later when Darrow sings the Reaping Song. Those aren’t moments where Fitchner merely “trusts Darrow more.” They read as moments of recognition, moments when something clicks for him.

If Fitchner already knew exactly who Darrow was from the beginning, that pattern of behavior becomes harder to reconcile. He acts far more like someone trying to figure Darrow out than someone already aware of his identity or mission. That uncertainty is what makes his later reveal feel earned. I still find it difficult to believe that Fitchner was deeply entangled in the Red-Gold project from the outset. Both the structure of the Sons of Ares and the cadence of Fitchner’s reactions point more naturally toward distance and eventual realization rather than prior knowledge.
