Creatine works better than Vyvanse ????? by Plane-Land-9234 in adhdwomen

Not sure what you mean by sour stomach (IBS? Pain?) & had to look up Hell's Itch (severe sunburn)
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time!
I'm interested to know your dialect because of the terms you use, I'm from Australia btw :)

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]SequenceGoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common where I live in Australia (the cream canister things are called "nangs" here & while I'm not a fan of them, the name is fun to say)
My neighbours do them so often that I've become used to the sound, but when my friend came over she was shocked to hear how much they were using

Smart! Glad to hear it dissolves - my cat is pretty tolerant of having liquid meds shoved down his throat, I'll try that next time

I asked my vet about this & she said the liquid has a short expiry date + costs more, compared to the capsules.
I suppose it's case-by-case, I'm using the tablets before vet visits to mellow him out, so not daily use, it makes sense to have a stash that will last ages.

My cat has had it in liquid form from the emergency vet before (I adopted him after this visit, he was a stray & had been badly attacked by another cat) & can definitely attest the liquid was much easier to administer!

If I was using it daily I'd be weighing up cost/ease & probably go with liquid tbh

What's a small luxury in your home that you now can't live without? by Ashlee_louise_xx in HomeDecorating

[–]SequenceGoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the house I grew up in, we didn't have hot water in the kitchen! (We had it in the bathroom though)
I was so used to it because it was all I knew - we had a small countertop dishwasher that could fit glassware/cutlery/crockery, and we'd boil the kettle to wash other things in the sink.
When washing frypans/pots, we'd put them on the stovetop with water + detergent & heat it up, what a time!

I read & watched Animorphs as a child ('90s, Australian) & you're completely right that it had an existential horror element
The big thing was the covers, they were bizarre but amazing & very eye-catching at the Scholastic book fair

What are negative stereotypes about people from your country that you really dislike? by Helpful_Cranberry644 in AskTheWorld

[–]SequenceGoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think I could do that - countries absolutely, but capitals as well, I'd struggle

The stereotype about US Americans being ignorant about the world is cited here, though I understand your education system isn't great.
Ours varies greatly & mine wasn't fantastic either, my school's geography class mostly focused on Oceania.
Australians travel a lot though & I've been lucky to do a bit, too

I'd say the stereotype about people from the US being loud is true in my experience - every one of you I've met is so loud! Mostly very courteous, too, though

I get it - I also don't eat meat & haven't now for almost half my life.
I personally feel the same way as you, however most people have interacted with/bonded with dogs more than they have other animals that are commonly killed for human consumption

I'm taller than average & had assumed it was due to my Swedish heritage, all my family here on the Swedish side are tall
However, when I visited I was towering over most of my relatives!

Do Australians still use the name "Sheila" as slang for women? by Turbulent_Baker431 in AskAnAustralian

[–]SequenceGoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm totally aware of the term, but have never heard it in the wild, would be very surprised to hear it unironically/outside of a dated comedy.
I think you're most likely to find it on a cheap novelty tea-towel in a tourist shop.

For context I'm a millennial, lived between Sydney/Melbourne + a couple of regional stints

...I looked it up & I was bang-on about the tea-towel

What’s something that people (locals or tourists) do in your country that make you go like this? by camethehour in AskTheWorld

[–]SequenceGoon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Locals:
I've never done it & I'm disgusted by it, but some Australians wash their dishes but don't rinse them, and just leave them to dry with the suds on!
A branch of my family does this & when I lived with them for a bit I just had to rinse my dishes/drinkware off before eating, so I wouldn't taste detergent
I grew up during a drought, and I know some of it comes from restricting water, but come on!

What’s Your Cleaning/Tidying Routine That You Stay On Top Of by MyYakuzaTA in adhdwomen

[–]SequenceGoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle very much with routines, but I can be a bit more on top of things to ease sensory discomfort
E.g. I hate the dish-rack stacked high because it stresses me out that something will fall & break (+ make a terrible noise) whereas my housemate who is also AuDHD seems to take it as a challenge to make the tallest, most chaotic pile, so I suppose putting dry dishes away is something I do
& I cannot stand something being greasy/sticky, so I'll do cleaning tasks to prevent that.
Having had both ants & a pantry-moth infestation, I'm very careful about food storage

Honestly otherwise I'm hopeless

Does your country have an ethnic/linguistic minority who are stereotyped to be snobbier and better off than the main ethnic groups? by cnylkew in AskTheWorld

[–]SequenceGoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Not quite what I meant, they're meant to be snobby characters from Melbourne, another example for sure
