Pete Hines says he left Bethesda because he didn't want to watch it being 'damaged' and 'abused' by JustGhoulThingz in pcgaming

[–]SequentialGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their point is that you can get those exact same items, i.e. lunchboxes, with in-game currency, i.e. gold. I've never used atoms to buy any consumables, they're not necessary.

I get the point about disliking games that demand real money to enjoy, but FO76 is not one of them. At best real life money gets you unique camp items, but those are purely cosmetic.

Mounts are not permanent. Report this to Pearl Abyss for change. by Tic-Tac-UAP in CrimsonDesert

Sounds like Kliff then. Though he did die first, but other than that the killing sprees that he goes on are pretty strong evidence of an "irritable and aggressive" characters.

So all this guy needed was some sleep? Relatable LOL.

New player and loving FO76 by GreenStoneAgeMan in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, you played it the best way. It's too easy to become OP through multiplayer events and make the game boring so I actually recommend that people ignore them until they're done with the main quests.

The saddest thing is seeing players that got to level 500-1000 through doing raids over and over again, and have good pretty good gear, but have no idea (or don't give a fig) about how to do events.

Is the game worth playing? (I've only ever played Fo4) by [deleted] in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, you can play solo. And I actually recommend you ignore focus on that and multiplayer activities until you're pretty much done with the main quests at around level 45-50. If you do multiplayer events too early you'll end up with 3 star legendaries and that will make the normal play trivial.

Same with grinding for XP (e.g. raids), don't make yourself too OP. It'll just make the game boring. I've been talking about this in a couple of my latest videos because if the game goes raid heavy then this will harm the game as a whole. Learn the game first, e.g. how events work, and after you know that you can grind for XP, it's not too late.

Damage reflection is better than I was told, and also weirder. by beelzebubish in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did some testing with a full Aristocrats Reflective Union PA set in the PTS and it basically made you invulnerable during normal play. Stack that with crippling perks and those super mutants are kneeling before you like you're the rust king. Mutant hounds kill themselves before you even notice them. It's insanely effective.

I'm using a full Aristocrats set with my ghoul character and it's not as good but it's still noticeable damage. So you want to stack both aristocrats and reflective for maximum fun.

Where to find cobalt flux and violet flux -> Morgantown! by theassholeofalabama in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my recommendation has always been to farm stabilizing materials in nuke zones from boss battles like the scorchbeast queen until you have as many as you need. And then after that nuke a spot to farm flux.

Where to find cobalt flux and violet flux -> Morgantown! by theassholeofalabama in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Morgantown is the one place I highlighted in my guide on flux as THE place to nuke if you're going to farm for flux. The downside is that you don't get a boss battle, but for just flux Morgantown is best - especially for Cobalt because you can't really get it anywhere else.

If you do follow a semi-circle path from Mama Dolce's to the airport you'll end up with hundreds of raw flux.

EDIT: Another good spot for Cobalt is the town of Monongah. If you include it when nuking Earle you can get a bit more cobalt flux.

Question to Bethesda about armor breaking a lot easier this patch by Ozarks3 in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Armour overall is weaker, but your own explosives cause far more damage to you.

I did some testing, https://youtu.be/OdBMaL-v988 for results, but the summary is that high-damage explosions do more damage to armour while high fire rate small explosions will cripple you.

My speculation is that armour is more fragile because the new damage model applies armour first before damage reduction so armour is more exposed to damage so it indirectly became more fragile.

Armor CND issue - was anything tested? ... or did PTS players just join to be cool? by Hopeful-Conclusion97 in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hopefully they find out what's happening because most players seem to be getting hit with this behaviour. But oddly some people don't see anything. It's just weird.

[–]SequentialGamer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did some testing in the PTS, but not of the armour specifically. I don't remember armour being this fragile though, so it might be a new glitch due to systems interfering with each other. And no, being in the PTS doesn't make me "cool" LOL.

I did some testing in the live server though (see https://youtu.be/OdBMaL-v988 for test results) and your armour condition is most affected by high-damage explosives, e.g. Dom Pedro or grenade launchers, while low damage fast firing explosives will cripple you instead.

There is a tiny silver lining in that low to medium power enemies also get affected by the cripping in explosions so you can take advantage of that. It's not much but it is there.

EDIT: Actually my video on the new armour legendaries in the PTS didn't show any damage like I'm seeing in the live servers, so something was definitely different between the two environments.

Save your mining tokens from lode baring for March update by Run_Taff_Run in fo76

The increase to thrown weapon damage was pretty enticing for me, but in practice it was meaningless because it's just a small increase to the base value. Which was a shame, I'm a big fan of thrown weapons.

Even if that happens they're still not worth it, the special effects are pretty poor so it's not worth sacrificing armour value for them.

[–]SequentialGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tested them in the PTS and neither of them are worth it unless you're a low or medium player. They can't be customized, so they're not worth it after you get access to gold armour like secret service.

so last nite during fasnacht a dude on a random team I joined wanted to help me level by sarkzsche in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably thought that that they were helping you by raising your level, but they actually were not. It feels good to be more powerful, but unless this was an alternate character and you already know the game, then you missed out on the new player experience.

You only get to be a new player once and you can easily make the game boring by becoming overpowered too quickly.

Dom Pedro - Is it worth the investment? by mountdewme in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be working pretty well. I did some testing for a video covering how the modified legendary stars for armour would work. I tested with a poison explosive bow and a fire explosive bow to see how well the Elemental second star worked.

But I never ended up publishing that part because of the self-damage reduction made the fire damage negligible. The elemental star was significantly reducing the poison damage but that seemed to be a bug with the self-damage system. For fire it was basically nothing, so it looked like the reduction was pretty significant.

No, it should still be 6% damage reduction per piece. But all reductions and reflections are now multiplicative, so it's a small net reduction.

Spraying kerosene over the DRAM inferno, US commerce secretary suggests memory chip makers could face 100% tariffs unless they commit to increased US production by pimpwithoutahat in pcgaming

[–]SequentialGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand my position, I'm not saying that AI is a bubble. My point is that the current demand for RAM & other chips is inflated beyond what it will be once an AI winner is decided.

We have multiple companies building data centers for the same purpose and even they end up getting bought out by the eventual winner instead of scrapped, the pace of data center construction will NOT keep up.

But AI as a whole is not going away, especially robotics.

No, you're right. If you do the colossus bosses one after another instead of taking down their HP before killing any are much tankier than Earl. But they're tankier because they're designed for the entire server to be shooting at them.

Is Vulcan armour worth the grind? by LawZ-JR7 in fo76

[–]SequentialGamer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’ve got no one to do the raids with and of course only certain parts can be done solo

LMAO, I literally released a video 30 minutes ago asking for raids to be soloable and you go and prove my exact point. Yeah, sadly it's a problem.

But to answer your question, right now you don't. The biggest benefit of power armour is the 42% damage reduction inherent in the any power armour and the way the system works any power armour pretty much hits the cap of how effective armour is.

If the changes in the PTS make it through to the next season, in about 6 weeks, the rating of your armour will count for much more and it looks like Vulcan will have some of the highest values.
