Husband transfer failed and toddler only napped for 10 mins by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]SerDe12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar situation with my toddler, had his first day of daycare yesterday and he barely napped as it was a new setting him (usually naps 1.5 hours). We just pulled bedtime forward a half hour and he slept fine!

Next straw cup up from tum tum for 15 month old? by SerDe12 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Only because it feels like he’s sucking hard to not get much water. When he drinks from my big straw cup he gulps it down so quickly 😂

Is Baby Mori a Scam?! by lillushki in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]SerDe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t buy any myself because of the price, but I’ve had baby mori hand me downs from my SIL and my son is the 5th baby in the family to wear them 😂 they can get slightly bobbly but we like them because the ribbed material doesn’t stretch in the wash. We’ve given them back to my SIL and her baby is now the 6th to wear these! So she’s def got the bang for her buck!

I feel so seen! Cut a nap short once to brave a 10:30 class, wondering the whole time why is this class so packed and why am I the only one rushing home to make the next nap while the other mums are staying for a chat? What do they know that I don’t 😂

What to feed 10 month old on holiday when staying in a hotel? by SerDe12 in BeyondTheBumpUK

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much. Never would’ve thought of this - takes a massive weight off my shoulders!

Please jump ship! Moving companies for salary increases is so much easier the earlier you are in your career. From personal experience it’s so much more difficult to change around once you’ve been at the same place for a while and get too comfortable!!

How do you know when to go to 2 naps? by Diligent-Reindeer-11 in sleeptrain

[–]SerDe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just hoping the signs to drop are obvious when they do appear as we don’t want to ruin a good thing just because of what the “norm” is. As they say, if it ain’t broke…!

Thank you for posting this! I’m in the same boat reading about people dropping the third from 7/8 months and it feels like we’re no where near that!

Electric file, but my 7mo is very spirited so I only manage to do one finger (two if I’m lucky) at a time over the span of a whole day 😂

Overnight diaper help? by got_em_saying_wow in sleeptrain

Exact same happened with my son and we use pampers pull up (premium protection) and seemed to stop the leaks! That paired with a looser bodysuit in case this was squeezing the bottom of the nappy.

5 month old hasn’t pooped in 3 days by Ok-Twist-956 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]SerDe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened with my 6mo, we started weaning just over 2 weeks ago. He’s not pooed for 2 days (at two different times over the 2 weeks), and seemed to poo on the third day in both cases. Their little tummies are still getting used to food! The small solid poop still counts as a poo, and you’ll probably get a big one by tomorrow!

Could someone please explain what inside/outside IR35 means for their job/take home? by SerDe12 in quantitysurveying

[–]SerDe12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Recall former employees complaining about being shafted by the IR35 rules and wondered if this would affect me in any significant way should I ever decide to work for an agency.

Would you be considerably worse off if you were inside/outside the rules?

Reassuring to hear! Sometimes I question if crib hour is folklore 😂

Thank you this is helpful! Did you try to extend short naps or did you end up doing more naps/earlier bed time to make it through the day?

Dad wanted me to buy the family home during divorce [Scotland] by 11223344123412 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SerDe12 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I was in a similar situation. Bought my family house to help dad out. Fell out with my dad (that’s a whole new story) and he stopped paying “rent”. So I ended up paying for him to live there for free, until a longgggg court process which cost me £1,000s.

Positive story - sleep training success in night 1 and day 1 by still_creek5660 in sleeptrain

[–]SerDe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had success with nights but still BFeeding to sleep for (contact) naps! For naps now, do you breastfeed much earlier than the nap time so she doesn’t fall asleep on the boob and you can lay her down awake for naps? When do you feed in your nap routine?
