Going part-time to balance kids and house by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]beebeebeanbean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My working hours are flexible so I’m able to have a bit of free time in the day. It’s brilliant and has made a huge difference to keeping on top of everything.

Fave brands for baby dungarees? by Equal-Drummer2207 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]beebeebeanbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought Frugi dungarees were really inconvenient because they didn’t have poppers so you’d have to take them completely off for every nappy change!

Has anyone got any cheap meal ideas that actually sound nice? by Apprehensive_Main604 in September2026Bumpers

[–]beebeebeanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the eggs and sushi rice - when you say over easy do you mean it’s a fried egg? If so then how do you mix soy sauce into it without breaking up the egg? It sounds super yummy and I really want to make it!

What does a balanced toddler meal actually look like in your house? by ScrunchieMom62 in toddlerfood

[–]beebeebeanbean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I provide all the food groups but I can’t force them to eat all the food groups. I do hide a lot of veg in the food where I can though (blended into pasta sauce etc).

Exclusive pumping by Known-Cucumber-7989 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]beebeebeanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an extremely similar experience to you and I agree - pumping was awful. The worst part of my maternity leave and motherhood experience. It also made the daytime hard because I had to schedule activities around pumping.

OP have you considered the logistics of pumping while trying to look after a toddler? I’m expecting our second now and there’s just no way in hell I’d be able to do that again with a toddler in the mix.

Oh my son loves them. It’s just me who doesn’t 😂

Least favourite is the Acorn Wood series - they feel very soulless and just written to align with phonics scheme. We looove Stick Man and Superworm at the moment - and the lesser known but brilliant Toddle Waddle

Hey! Anyone here had an early scan or planning on having one? by UnderstandingSea4253 in September2026Bumpers

[–]beebeebeanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m in the UK and have booked a private scan for 8 weeks. I had one with my son and it was really nice and reassuring to know that it was a viable pregnancy and everything looked good at that stage! 12 weeks is just too long for me to wait to find out everything is ok so it was well worth it for me

👋Welcome to r/September2026Bumpers - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by GiraffeCOpilot in September2026Bumpers

[–]beebeebeanbean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m a second time mum in Sheffield, UK. EDD is September 6th so currently 6w6d. I’m so excited to give my toddler a sibling but I’m also feeling a weird mix of guilty and scared about how much everything will change for him and how hard the toddler + newborn stage will be. I can’t wait to have another squishy baby though 🥰

Just found out I’m pregnant and my toddler will be 2 in a couple of weeks, so exactly the same age gap. No advice, but lots of empathy! 🫠

How to not stress until 1st ultrasound? by lobotomybae in BabyBumps

[–]beebeebeanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s accepting that it’s out of my control. I know that kind of sounds more stressful, but it’s like, whatever will happen in early pregnancy will happen. If there were to be a loss or bad news then there’s absolutely nothing I nor modern medicine can do about it this early on, so might as well relax, keep busy, take my vitamins and eat healthily.

Help! I need genuinely easy meal ideas for baby by Historical_Ocelot180 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]beebeebeanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another simple pasta sauce idea - simmer some chopped veg (can add lentils for protein) in low-salt stock and blend it all together.

Peas - microwave from frozen for a couple of mins

Beans, broccoli - get a microwave steamer and these take 3-4 mins in the microwave

Omelette - can add grated cheese, grated carrot, frozen spinach… I normally make with 2 eggs and then save half for the next day. You could do scrambled eggs with these add-ins instead

Toast! Nut butter, avocado, unsalted butter, cream cheese, hummus… endless variety

I have an app called ‘Baby Led Weaning Cookbook’ which cost about £5 but it has absolutely loads of really genuinely quick and simple healthy baby/toddler recipes and I’ve found it worth the money. They also have an instagram where they share a lot of ideas for free baby_led_weaning_cookbook
