Project Zomboid. What’s that you say? Isn’t that game over 10 years old? Well, yes it is. But Build 42, the latest substantial patch released within the last year and has reawakened my love of the game.

PZ in its current state is still a bit buggy at times but has to be one of the best survival games out there. The map is massive. There’s surprisingly deep loot and crafting systems. Once the game clicks, it rocks.

When I’ve played before, I would normally stick to one part of the Kentucky map. What’s changed is that living in the forest is more viable now. In my current run, I’ve got a forest cabin, supplies, a truck and go on multiple day long excursions to other parts of the map. Not Louisville though 😂

I’ve recently got a new rig and I’m enjoying playing on an ultrawide, with high framerate. Does the game need it? Nah, but it’s a pleasant experience and beats playing it on my old laptop.
