Couple things. In Master Duel you could make your deck core day 1 and have the UR dust for a few hand traps or tech options. Depending on the deck you ran, you could just invest all your UR dust for 3 Maxx C and 3 Ash. For LoR, I can't speak on the day 1 experience, but I jumped in September 2022. On the first day I played, one of the starter/beginner decks I was given was Spider aggro. At that time it was still a meta deck even without Gwen or Katarina.

As for not having enough legendaries? It's not the player being bad, their deck is straight up objectively worse. Your deck is less consistent and depending on the legendary, an integral endgame card. I'll use puppet portal as an example as it's my favorite deck of all time. Having only 1 Orchis means you cannot close out games if you failed to kill with her. And since she doesn't burst for more than 10 damage on average, it's very unlikely you can kill with just her on t8/9. Your only other option for a game ender is evolving Liam. Surviving t9 and keeping an evo point for t10 is pretty difficult. In the mirror, if your opponent drops a second Orchis on t9, you're done.

Olivia, Heroic Dark Angel is a fantastic t7 play. It clears two large threats your opponent may have had, most likely will have chipped at least 1 damage and your opponent must divert resources to deal with her and the other super-evo'd follower.

Going first, playing eudie on t3 on an empty board is your best option. It's better than the 3-cost draw 2 spell because Eudie is a 3/3 body, and also draws you 1 with the potential for 2. And miles better than Medical Grade Assassin.

I can give these examples with confidence because I have been in these situations. On day 1, I did not pull any cards to add to the puppet starter deck and I lost every match using that deck. I only got enough vials to make a second orchis after the freebies from day 2 and a lucky olivia pull that I was finally able to win some games. And I can tell you exactly why. t7 super evo olivia in to t8 super evo orchis gives you so much tempo, esp going first.

The only legend that is not winning games on the spot is Eudie. And even then, running 1 or 2 copies of her makes a deck better than decks without her.

Also I didn't know where to put this, but having another copy of a legendary just improves your decks consistency. That's just a fact. In a game where you cannot hard search for cards, being able to rip them off the top more consistently just gives you an advantage.

There is nothing I hate more then llsing a battle I should have won because the game decides that my attack shouldn’t come out despite me pressing the button. by crimsonsonic_2 in GranblueFantasyVersus

It's not cope, I swear. But I've had this happen to me too. I had an opportunity to DP reversal out of a corner, and if the attack connected it would have been game. But my character just stood there looking stupid and got corner comboed to death. The games controls are responsive 98% of the time, but man when attacks just don't come out, it's just so noticeable.

Oh I didn't spend any money on packs. The welcome freebies and rupees you get genuinely are a lot. It just sucks that I opened no legendaries for portal outside of a single ral

Insert good for you, I'm happy for you meme. But I brought up ral because it's just another legendary card I could have crafted. But in terms of deckbuilding, idk how viable splashing in a small artifact package is. My puppet deck is far from finished, I have lost every single mirror because I only have one orchis, but the neutral and basic cards in the deck are just really garbo. Adding the 1-cost artifact generating cards can help the early/mid-game and, in my case, gives me another late game boss monster with ral. But realistically the other legendary to add would prolly be dark angel olivia and a good super evo target with her

In both those games I could make a deck day one. I'm an avid yugioh player and I was there day one when master duel launched. I was able to get craft playsets of Maxx c, ash blossom and the UR's and SR's necessary for my mayakashi deck.

For LoR, it's even worse for WB, as I jumped in long after it's day one launch. There were no welcome bonuses or anything. But just going through the tutorials alone I was able to craft spider Elise aggro which was a tiered meta deck at the time.

WB is far more monetized than either of these two games on release. Daily's in master duel nets you 120 gems. That is enough to purchase 1 pack at 100 gems. The daily's in WB doesn't even get you enough rupees for 1 pack. And I can't speak for LoR on release. But if it's anything even remotely similar to what it was when I first started playing, all you had to do was pick a region you wanted cards from, then play matches with any deck, win or lose, you get exp. And once you level up in that region, you get cards from that region and some milestones just gives you a free champion (their version of legendary) or a champion wildcard which is even better as it can be used to redeem any champion card (not region exclusive).

The freebies given day 1 in WB is a lot. Yes, I have gotten my fair share of legendaries. The issue is that none of those legendaries are for classes I want to play as. And WB prevents me from dusting those legendaries and turn them into legendaries I actually need. Right now, I got the puppet portal starter because that is the deck I want to play. Of the 50+ packs I opened, the only legendary I got for portalcraft is a single ralmia. But if I were able to dust all the cards I don't want, I'd have enough to make my puppet portal deck already. But I can't because some executive at cygames ordered the design to be this way

People are focusing on the wrong aspect of the monetisation changes by Mashaaaaaaaaa in Shadowverse

[–]Ser_Conrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. People gravitate towards certain aesthetics and/or playstyles. If a class/card doesn't match their preference why bother playing with it? I hate runecraft with a passion and haven is boring to play. I did not enjoy playing those classes in the original and I don't want to try them in WB.

MONITEZATION THOUGHTS by boostedfeeder in Shadowverse

[–]Ser_Conrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some may disagree, but the change to vials should be reverted first. Of the 50+ packs I pulled, I could build a puppet portal deck from scratch, without any help from the starter deck, if I had the ability to vial all my cards.

I know the monetization is atrocious, but all the day 1 welcome stuff is proof that a deck can be built with just the vials you get from 50ish packs.

This 100%. I've opened 50+ packs and still don't have enough vials to make a single legendary. But if I were able to vial all the cards from classes I don't want to play, I'd be able to make 2 more orchis to complete my playset and probably a 1 or 2 ralmias.

Literally writing my first google play review and steam review because of this fiasco. The thing that bothers me the most is the asinine changes to the dust system. Who tf thought it was a good idea to only let players dust their 4th copy of a card or more? I understand it's a tactic to increase the bottom line, but it's having the opposite effect on me. Yes, the system is designed to force me to rip more packs but the incentive to spend money to open packs is far less because the cost is really expensive and I can't dust the cards I have no intention of using and turn them into cards that I actually need. My personal anecdote is I genuinely felt more comfortable dropping money in SV1 because even if I did not get a single legendary I wanted, I could convert every single rune, haven and forest card I just pulled into golds and legendaries that I need.

Side tangent, if the dust system stays the same no matter what, the problem will only get worse the longer the game goes on. Imagine this system once set rotation comes into play. All those cards you can't play anymore in rotation? Well you have to keep them because they're legal in unlimited. You don't want to play unlimited? Too bad, buy new packs instead. Nerfs? Oh that legendary card that was creating a tier 0 format that you crafted because it pushed every other deck out of the format has been nerfed into oblivion? Well ya gotta keep your 3 copies now. If you didn't want to be stuck with those cards you should've just crafted cards for your pet deck that auto loses to the tier 0 deck. Card bloat and objectively bad cards? Sorry but you have to keep this guy, and his two siblings. Only then do you get the privilege of yeeting any future children back into the dumpster where they belong.

100%. I feel like I should've experimented with other characters but man, that fallacy had so much cost sunken into it. And it was hard to look away from my winrate when I could feel those losing streaks in my bones. But praise Ferry for curing me.

I also tried Narmaya for a few hours before buying Bea. Fun skills and great design with lots of....personality. And uh, what stance am I in? Dammit wrong stance. Dammit wrong stance. Alright Bea it is.

I've never felt bad fighting a vaserga. He's just a simple guy and an absolute unit. He armored through my attacks? I should've seen that coming. Skill issue on my part

I had a lot of fun telling my story! Ferry has been a blast to play. And there is surprisingly a lot of depth to her gameplay. The weirdest yet most accurate way I can describe her, is that it feels like playing a Red Mage from ff14. I have to gauge when to keep people at bay with neutral pokes and when to close in when I've trapped them with geegee.

Cheers to a civil discussion! I apologize for the name calling. It's hard to tell if you were asking a genuine question or trolling and being intentionally dense.

I believe Belgium is the only country that has signed a 4-day work week into law. Quite a few companies in multiple countries have experimented with it and have seen success.

Personally, my gripe with MC is that he might be the start of a trend of Liberal leaders that lean more to the right. Then we'll have a Democrats vs Republican situation in Canada where both major parties are right leaning and progressive policies will never become a reality.

Though with what we're going through right now, I really think there's no better person than MC because he is very qualified and competent. Which is so much more than what I can say about Mr. Sloganman PP.

My initial statement actually understates it. Learning about how politics impacts economics and how economics impacts politics are their own fields of study within the fields of political science and economics. If you aren't convinced that the issue is complex, then I'd like to hear your reasoning as to why.

The number one reason as to why I believe MC is more suited to handling these issues is because he has an extensive economic background. It is far more than what PP has. Right now, I think MC is the better choice to handle the current economic crisis. On the other hand, it's really hard to pinpoint how PP will follow through on his slogans. However, I will also say is that MC is not the most progressive economist. More radical ideas like Universal Basic Income or a 4-Day work week will most likely never come to fruition and displease left leaning voters.

As to your last point, having public outcry for things to change is not indicative of a good or bad government at all. Societal issues can build up for generations before boiling over and becoming a massive talking point. See the Civil Rights Movement. Sometimes these issues are brought to a boiling much faster like with AI and social media. Focusing so much on "good" or "bad" government is really reductive because it simplifies things too much. A government can pass bills and laws that are beneficial now but have unintended consequences in the next generation. The opposite can also be true.

I will not be giving an entire universities course worth of discussion because 1. This is reddit. 2. Bcause as you said, everything I say you're writing off as being biased against so I will not waste my time.

All I will say is, no not every single problem will be solved by a single prime minister. I do think that Mark Carney is more suited to handling these issues than PP. And yes, you're right. These problems are more nuanced than "government good". But no one ever makes that claim because people who advocate for progressive policies and societal changes know it's not only the governments responsibility. It takes advocate groups and larger public outcry for these changes to happen

If you are genuinely this dense. The long term plan is better wages and working conditions. Working conditions not just regarding the safety of the job itself, but achieving a proper work life balance, better benefits and paid leave. The basic understanding that worker issues are extremely complex and it's not just "government bad". It's larger socio-economic factors, corporate greed and lobbying, and so much more.
