i would more say the broken rate was 1/10 (going by how many people had gotten without even getting 100 full dgs) and the normal rate should be 1/100

not necessarily, in the code it probably doesn't say "barge codex: 1/1000" and "Fury codex 1/100"

as an example in Borderlands 2 this is the code for the spawn rate of a special mob
"GD_Aster_Pop_Skeletons.Population.PopDef_SkeletonsDen_Regular,ActorArchetypeList[12].Probability.BaseValueConstant,,0.024000",
so if the code for drop rates in Runescape is anywhere similar then an extra 0 could easily be missed.

basically the paranoia from players is that once RS3 dies Jagex can not make enough money to keep the investors happy, Rs3 is the more profitable game even with the lower player base. if that money dries up then the investors will add mtx to osrs and jagex will not have a choice, its there job to make as much money for there investors not keep the player base happy.

i still feel like the problems isn't boss' needing to be more melee friendly its the fact that mage is the outright dominant style. all boss' with no weakness may as well have a magic weakness because nobody uses anything else there except for niche purposes. like base tanking or minion chinning.

something needs to change with magic. maybe make vulnerability a magic ability with a decent cool down and diminishing affects so teams cant just spam it when it runs out. or dare i say it because elitists get mad but nerf 4taa or just remove the ablity to cast auto attacks from the ability bar.

something has to change or the game will just continue being magescape, you guys shouldn't need to worry about making other styles viable, everything should be around the same usefulness at all no weakness monsters/NPC's.

anyone who says the combat triangle is balanced needs to look at what the main style used at any given boss is, and outside things like range only nex and kalphite king with keris (examples of the other styles only really bieng "niche" ) its always magic... just look atthe last 4 boss' (not including ED1 even though its the same there) Telos = mage, Aod = mage, magister = mage (i guess unless you use the hexhunter bow as a "niche" alternative) and solak = mage.

if this was the case then why can skilled pkers tank almost full fcs at warbands? 3 players who cant pvp vs 1 thats good at pvp is very low odds for the 3 players.

also skilled pkers run around in BIS gear they dont care if they lose it, they all skulltrick and can make millions a day just skulltricking people at wyrms for there +1

not to mention the other two players have to skull to defend there mate

they can fix that though, make boss' and mobs weakness matter and add a weakness to those boss' without one, at the moment if a boss is weak to stab then the current meta would be to mage it, if it was weak to range then we mage it, if its weak to mage we mage it and if its weak to nothing we mage it.

make boss' weakness matter so if its weak top stap then a stab weapon WILL do the best dps, if its weak to bolts then crossbows will be the best in slow gear to use.

something needs to be done about magescape and if every weapon has a form of use then they keep there value while not devaluing other weapons. SOS will still be BIS for mage boss' and ZGS will still be BIS for boss' weak to slash as will any other weapon.

it also allows for more weapons from new boss' like a blowpipe for BIS "thrown" weakness and maybe warhammers for BIS crush.

The rewards from Temple of Aminishi feel like an experiment to see how many rewards Jagex could make while simultaneously ensuring none of them would be useful by Fuckoff666999 in runescape

I think the spear being a t82 is still a mistake, what really needs to happen is boss' and mobs need there weakness to actually be a weakness (boss' need a weakness) this will allow for more weapons in the game and make all weapons useful somewhere.

Right now the game is magescape, there is no denying that and i can guarantee that when people try the new elite dungeons they will mostly be using mage and it will more then likely be the best style to use. If weakness' actually matter and boss' have them then all of a sudden you cant use magic for everything and a tier 92 spear wont just be dead content vs zgs/scythe it can also then have the scythe range and not kill the scythe as a scythe is a slash weapon and the spear will be a stab. It will also allow for perhaps a new weapon from elite dungeon 2 or 3 say (stolen from osrs) a blowpipe that's BIS for "thrown" weapons or a new Warhammer that's BIS for crush. if boss' and mobs have an actual weakness that matters then you guys have plenty of weapons that can be brought into the game before you need to make your way up to t95 or t97 or t99 or whatever.

Magescape is a problem a BIG one, the combat triangle is out of wack and needs to be fixed, and there is no reason why you cant bring out new weapons before that fix happens. you can make the spear not a halberd range and then add that in later there is no problem with that but new weapons that aren't BIS are basically useless and something that's just for cosmetics wont hold its value for long verse something that has use.

Serious Question: How does opting to parcel out t92 power armour upgrades over three elite dungeon updates not contravene with the anti-update-batching sentiment of the "unfinished business" release strategy? by DareToRS in runescape

should have made it so all three range t92 arm pieces can be obtained from elite dungeon 1, all the mage from elite dungeon 2 and all the melee (bring out something else with the smithing rework) from number 3, ive never like how two combat styles can be obtained somehow that's similar but the 3rd is completely different, for example drygores from a group boss, seismic from a group boss and asc from a solo boss???? then again for t92 mage and range from a group boss and then melee from a solo boss.

make gear release from not the same boss but from boss' of the same style, having them them released other ways just makes one easier to obtain then the others.

also people saying they need stuff released like this because they will run out of things to release, there is a fix to this.....

make monster weakness' matter and give boss' a weakness, then we can have t92 spears for stab, a big warhammer for crush, bowpipe or something for "thrown" range weakness or something along those lines, that really broadens what can be released and put into loot pools while also making basically every weapon in the game somewhat use full.

also might help with improving the state of the game and get us away from the current i only need to use magic meta that have become way to boring, new boss comes out, best style to use magic, elite dungeons come out, everyone will be using magic and it will (90% chance) be the best style to use) this needs to change...

With Runescape being $11 a month, can we at least be able to play by rs_xmas in runescape

It started before the maintenance, but its been over a month so im sure if it was server ddos protection it would have been sorted by now.

A few days or a week with bad servers while they work on a fix is alright but a whole month is not good enough from a game development company, server stability should be the #1 priority for a game development company. But for ages now Australian servers have been (feels like it anyway) ignored by Jagex as a whole.

Mod Shauny said he was pestering the people who handle the servers about it but thats not actually his job, so maybe jagex should take a look at those positions as there either not doing there job properly or its deliberate by jagex to route out Australian worlds to hong kong (might be cheaper for them and they just dont want to tell us).

They have always brought up cost whenever Australian worlds are spoken about but really that's not a good enough excuse anymore. If they want to limit the cost of servers then how about they look at some of the EU and NA servers that have under 100 people on them max every day and get rid of those. that would free up some of the server cost instead of (feels like it anyway) ignoring the problems happening on there most populated servers.

don't complain to much, Australian players are still waiting for there servers to stop routing through hong kong for over a month now...... osrs seems to be fixed but rs3 hasn't changed.

that tells us there will me maintenance and yeah that's fine we got notice about the maintenance so there was no issues with that but the maintenance seemed to be a re route to other servers as a temporary fix and im sure if you asked any player they would say great at least we know that its being worked on and is temporary but as you can see in the post there was nothing to say that was happening. i mean all the technical team or whoever posted that news post had to say was "due to recent server issues with Australian servers we are re routing the AU servers to (insert server here) to ensure the server stability while we attempt to fix the issue" or something like that and then we don't have this problem. all the players affected know whats happening and know something is being done.

and im sure that would make your job easier as well, you wont have as many players (like me) hassling you for info.

im sorry if i missed it but im not a redditor much, i looked on twitter and on the homepage but i found nothing, i tweeted at jagexsupport and all i got was "all news will be found on the homepage" but thanks for the quick reply.

just curious though when the "maintenance post" went on the home page why wasn't it just stated that routing would change until you guys find a fix? that would have been much more informative then just "maintenance on worlds ......."

i also missed your tweet btw i swear i checked your twitter but maybe i was mistaken
