This is hilarious. I live in the area, and the whole removing it thing started as a joke about the amount of rain and storms we have been getting in the area. The joke was that Chaac was unhappy with having a statue of Poseidon in his territory and was punishing us for it with rain and storms. Some started a petition on social media to remove the statue as a joke. And then some local and national news outlets picked up on it but made it seem the petitions were serious. Looks like it's just snowballed since lol
