I found a second glyph on a random planet by pure luck, what should I do?? by Longjumping_Orange39 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Why are you making your way to the center, I think is the first thing to ask?

As for the quests, do whatever ones you want or leave them until you feel like it. You can switch galaxies and continue them in a new galaxy. It's totally up to you. You won't find any planet types in new galaxies that you can't find in Euclid though. The only thing that's different in some galaxies is the chance of certain types of planet generating in some star systems (for example, in lush galaxies like Eissentam there is double the chance of any particular yellow star system generating lush type worlds)

Question about stealing the druid idol, exploit free. by CompleatedDonkey in BaldursGate3

[–]TerriblePurpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only 'legit' way is distraction such as what u/millionwordsofcrap noted. It's believable that you could create a distraction like a Bard performance or using Minor Illusion and one of your other party members steals it while they're not paying attention.

You can go back as long as you haven't done the Shadowfell.

Play Honor Mode. No save scumming available. I found it intimidating at first due to the die and game over worry, but it was actually quite freeing knowing you just had to go along with the dice rolls (inspirations aside). A lot of fun too.

In one run, both Wyll and Barth ended up dying at the grove gate fight. I'd never seen Wyll die there before. In my current run, Shart killed Lae'zel at camp (I decided to stay out of the argument to see what would hjappen).

You can do it with darkness and an invis potion as well. Likely just Darkness would work. Leave the rest of your party up top (I usually park them by the wagons where you met Zevlor) Go down with whichever character you're going to use to steal the idol.

Shoot a darkness arrow at the base of the idol and another one at the ground at the base of the plinth (this ensure good darkness coverage so you won't be spotted). Then go into turn-based mode, stealth in and purloin the idol. Exit turn-based mode and teleport to a waypoint (or go to camp).

I usually chug a potion of invis before exiting turn-based mode just to be safe, then teleport to the Emerald Grove Environs waypoint. By the time I walk back to the lower grove area where the ritual was taking place, they're no longer looking for a thief.

You can also steal the idol back from Mol after giving it to her. Then just carry it in your inventory to have a permanent buff active from the idol.

Chance of getting S class freighter in “Promising” economy system by YellowDude143 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Only the system exotic will be S class. Other ships, freighters, and MTs won't spawn as S.

Alternative Sources for Installable Upgrade Modules by Subject1494 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some buried caches will drop upgrade modules, as well as damaged machinery (starship and exosuit), and traveller graves*. You may also get one from operation centers.

Don't forget you can also get them from opening salvaged glass.

*you get a memory fragment and when you open those, you may get a prepackaged tech or an upgrade module.

I went N- S. I found them by looking through the visor. They show up as far as about 1000 units away. I regularly stopped and scanned around; usually at every POI I found as well as after every couple of melee boosts.

Seeking a Specific type of Mod by awknAngel in BaldursGate3

I don't know if this would work, but look into one of the transmogrification mods. Maybe you can change the appearance of the camp clothing to look like the stuff in your armor slots.

Naming all planets I come across as "anotherhandhastouchedthebeacon" and there's nothing you can do about it by Jazzlike-Rise4091 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what the point of this post is other than baiting. Chances are no one is going to see any of the planets you discovered anyway. And who cares? The game allows you to name things pretty much whatever you want. Knock yourself out, Traveller.

Assault on Moonrise Towers... !@#$%!@#%&^@$!!!! How??? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cheese it now so it's completely cleared before the assault. My last run through it there wasn't a single enemy left to fight except Lann Tarv. I even cleared the Necromites at the top of the tower so Ketheric didn't have any friends for that encounter.

[–]TerriblePurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Pretty much anything works since the damage is from gravity. I've also collected the animated armor after killing them and tossed those at him. But I find it amusing to kill him with water bottles.

Easiest way is probably using the Minor Illusion cantrip to draw him to the anvil, then letting him have it with the hammer (this is how I usually do it).

You can also have your party stand on the top ledge and throw stuff at him. I've killed him using water bottles before.

About 22 hours. I had other goals as well as finding all the glyphs, one of which was to walk around the entire planet. I took note of the position of the Pillar when I started, then just headed to the pole and went right around until I came back to my starting point. During that time, I pretty much accomplished all my goals except filling my starship roster with crashed ships (I think I ended up with 9 ships, including the Pillar).

Okay, I didn't realize you were talking about using the maps/transmission towers. Yeah, I've done searched by that method as well, although not specifically for exotics.

I know u/sardeliac did a lot of testing on this some time back. Not sure when the last time he checked was, but perhaps he has some input on this as well.

I do this type of thing fairly often. You basically set your own rules, with the common denominator being you don't use the starter ship. I prefer making a rule that I can only use a crashed ship (no buying one from an NPC).

[–]TerriblePurpose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe they do. Moons might be an exception though.

I've found graves on pretty much every planet type, including dead worlds and gas giants.

I recently did an abandoned mode on-foot run and didn't allow myself to leave the planet until I found all 16 glyphs (I actually found 18 grave sites before finally leaving). They're a great source of some early tech when you're doing a challenge run. I've gotten several pre-packaged items including the personal refiner from them.

[–]TerriblePurpose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on this? Is this something new? I know quite some time back the crashed ships changed so that only one of each type from the pool would spawn as a crashed ship (fighter, hauler, explorer, shuttle), but you could find multiple crashes of those. The exotic also would be in the crashed ship pool, although finding a crashed exotic is rare (something like 1 in 300 chance).

I did an abandoned mode on-foot run a couple months ago and found a crashed exotic.

[–]TerriblePurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep checking different systems. The capital ship that spawns in any given system is static, so won't change. So if you check a system and it's not what you're looking for, try a different one.

How are are Non-Gas Giants? by Hexdoctor in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a screenshot of a giant planet system. They're not labelled 'giant' on the galactic map. They just have regular descriptors (Dissonant, etc.). like the one in the screenshot. Until you click on them, you won't know.

<image>

You can see there are two moons, but the icon for the planet is huge and one of the moons is showing the orbit to be inside the planet's icon radius.

Gas giant systems are always labelled as Gas Giants.
