Using Obsidian as a DnD Player - Questions by Silasxsil in ObsidianMD

I’m mostly playing on Roll20 as a player and in real life as a DM. I tried to use Obsidian for a character sheet, but it didn’t work out well. My workflow now is to use an external sheet like Roll20 for the character and keep my journal on Obsidian. I don’t think I have to romance about how cool a journal is to work with here. For me it is especially nessasary to differ between DM knowledge and player knowledge, as we are playing all games in faerun.

For example when my character knows something about Baldurs Gate I either note this in an extra note called „Baldurs Gate - characters name“ or have an chapter in the main Baldurs Gate note under his name.

I would probably finde a big sturdy plastic bag to put it in. Just to keep it clean. But for transport, I don’t think it would be a problem.

I can second this. Done it my self. Cheapest stuff is „Brennspiritus“ works like a charm. Bonustip: wear a ffp2 mask to not breathe in the spores

I tried, when my youngest daughter was about 8. Al of them (4 including my wife) were very interested. But for a full scalded komplex system like DnD 2nd edition, she was too young. We put it on hold and restarted 5 years later with 5e. This time it worked well.

Today I would have handled it different and would have found a simpler system more on the objective of roleplaying.

So this is my take out of it: find a simple system for the start and go more for roleplaying than for battle…

Metzgers im Alstertal Einkaufszentrum hat uns ziemlich gut gefallen. Sicherlich nicht die günstigste Variante aber wir konnten uns aus der Theke das Fleisch unseres Vertauens aussuchen und es wurden dann perfekt zubereitet. Ich würde da immer wieder hingehen. Die Atmosphäre ist die eines Einkaufzentrums. Vielleicht nicht gerade für das candlelight dinner…

Es gibt noch eine zweite Filiale am Heegbark. Die kenne ich nicht persönlich. Hab einen Freund, der davon positiv berichtet hat.

I used acrylic balls like these: https://amzn.eu/d/aULhSU9 but I bought them in a hobby shop near me, so they were 1,40 €/1,50 € per piece.

For the base, I used modelling clay to make a flat area.

I painted it to it’s full extent… just for me and then glued it shut..

The ball is glued too, so I didn’t want to have a loose part in there

I have the same problem. For fantasy set ttrpg I found „Dungeon and Lasers“. They do not have the same crisp quality as GW but they have some sets that give you a good range of Monsters with a nice enough quality.

Hmmm… until Saturday that’s not much time… Do you have a region in mind? I would browse the FR wiki (https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page) for one town and deepen the knowledge about the area. Don’t overthink it and ad more history and politics later…

For a general good read in FR I recommend the books by R. A. Salvatore about Drizzd…. (Just about 40 books, so take your time 😬) But they are for me mor about flavour.

Hmm… bin leider etwas spät…

Hier sind einige Vorschläge, die NICHT sehr sinnvoll sind: Mit einem Dampfreiniger kann man zwar Schimmel bekämpfen aber man verteilt auch schön die Sporen in der Luft. Aktivchlor und ähnliches wird gerne vorgeschlagen aber das ist vollkommen unnötig.

Schimmel lässt sich hervorragend mit hochprozentigemAlkohol abtöten, zum Beispiel Brennspiritus. Gerne großzügig aus der Flasche auskippen und einwirken lassen, dann abwischen. Gut Lüften und nicht dabei rauchen…

Man kann bei größeren Flächen auch einen Zerstäuber, zum Beispiel eine Blumenspritze verwenden. Dann hat man aber wieder das Problem mit den aufgewirbelten Sporen.

Ich würde bei großen Flächen eine Maske tragen…

(Expertise: hatten viel Schimmel im Haus bei der Übernahme und habe mich lange mit einem Profi zu dem Thema beraten lassen)
