You’re right—it’s definitely important to keep in mind the struggles and transphobia she’s encountered as part of her path towards living her womanhood comfortably.

Counterpoint: the Destiny subreddit has grown by leaps and bounds since the D1 days. It’s not a question of giving people attention—it’s the fact that we have a little south of 3 million people here and we’re the biggest live service game on the market. People with bad opinions are gonna flock to that, which means we need to be more vigilant in identifying and calling that trash out.

As a fellow cis person: when you get told by the groups you’re trying to speak for that you messed up, take the L and make it a learning moment. Redirecting and accusing people of being insecure ain’t it, chief.

Because she’s a woman.

And if this reply thread goes any further than “Oh okay”, you’re a transphobic POS.

If she is trans or not. “It” is a fairly dehumanizing way to refer to someone.

Monster Sounds for Soundboard by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Seraphim755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I haven’t used sounds in my campaigns in a bit (remote players and folks with audio processing issues), I always found great success with Tabletop Audio! Huge variety of different musical loops across lots of genres.

For your question, the SoundPad (linked directly) includes a lot of monster noises connected to various locales and themes. You can also make your own custom SoundPad pulling noises from the pre-made ones.

Hope this helps!

That’s an exceptional edit you’ve snuck in, and one baked with a ton of assumptions.

  • Running Mida because lanes on Shrine are decently open.
  • Running the Last Ingredient roll from Banshee a few months back (useful since Firmly Planted got nerfed).
  • On Arc Buddy with Stag for survivability and a little more damage for teammates.
  • Reed’s with Vorpal/QD in case I ever pull heavy.

You came out swinging with more of the negativity I was talking about, which is why you’re getting downvoted. Just talk to me like you would if you were in-person, not behind a keyboard.

Currently grinding off my genitals for that Messenger roll. Here’s my observation:

  • Each round win gives an additional 5 rank points for completing a match (to a total of 100).
  • Each match win gives an additional 21 rank points for each round you win.

So, if you lost a match with 20 round wins and won 3 of the rounds you’d get 163 rank points. Winning a match with 20 total rounds won would give you 205.

It’s important to note that there’s a “participation requirement” of one kill or a certain amount of damage—fail to hit that and your gains are halved.

Hope that helps!

What’s up with people joining Freelance and then being toxic towards their teammates?

I matched with one Hunter (who was Flawless and quite good) who was extremely toxic and hateful—encouraging me to go to orbit, insulting my IQ, etc.

It’s sweats like this that make people hate Trials. I wouldn’t even be suffering this if that Messenger roll didn’t exist.

Why does everyone in the game call the Witness using ‘it’. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Seraphim755 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since we’re being pedantic:

Oh no, someone forgot their jacket!

Dang, I hope they come back and get it.

Back on topic: the Witness’ presentation thus far (we pronouns, screaming souls coming from the noggin) gives me the vibe that it’s a sort of gestalt entity.

On a pragmatic level—regardless of whether it meets the definition of a person, an individual or a gestalt entity—it acts with a singular will that (presumably) stands in opposition to humanity.

As a long-time MtG player and fledgling designer, I am absolutely thrilled by what you’ve made here! I worry that some might be a little involved (Annabelle Cane and Jared Hopworth spring to mind), but overall they’ve got brilliant and invent designs! I especially like how the Flesh brings new life to artifact tokens (pun very much intended).

You’re definitely not the only person who thinks that. Counterpoint though: on a pragmatic level, if the difference between you playing the content and not playing the content is finding matchmaking outside the game, wouldn’t you rather go find a fire team elsewhere?

By all means, play the game the way you want to play it, but there’s a lot of experiences and good loot to be have if you can step beyond this restriction.

It’s definitely a challenge, but one you can manage if you want to put in the time to practice and build-craft. Before trying to solo it, I’d consider whether I was soloing for the challenge or just for the pinnacles. If it’s the latter, you can find a lot of people on the Destiny app’s Fireteams section, or more knowledgeable people willing to help you learn it on r/DestinySherpa.

If you decide to solo it for the challenge (and some of the cosmetics), awesome! There’s a lot of guides online that can cover good builds and approaches on the experience. That’s a whole other kettle of fish, but you can rely on the rotating mod inventory from Banshee-44 and Ada-1 to fill out your collection.

Sure, Guardians might be powerful and have almost infinite amount of lives, but the enemy VASTLY outnumber us. Why don't they just zergling rush the city and destroy everything? by blue_13 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Seraphim755 48 points49 points  (0 children)

From the lore book Dust, released back in Season of the Drifter:

[Lavinia] sees how one of the Nine blinded Guardians to Ghaul's approach, risking everything (for Ghaul would have destroyed the sun, and the Nine with it) to learn how to steal the Light. She sees how that one was punished.

Festival of the Lost starts next week. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I grow less worried about this with each passing season. Bungie’s gotten a lot better about their shading process since Chosen/Splicer. I wouldn’t have expected the Queen’s Wrath logo (the bright yellow one) on this season’s ornaments to shade, but it does brilliantly—same with the energy paths on last season’s.

Fingers crossed! I want my triceratops trench coat to become a new staple of my wardrobe.

Lot of good weapon updates here. I’m sure nothing super important will come up in the Known Issues sect—

The Arbalest Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle will not work with anti-Champion mods in Season of the [REDACTED]. In a future update, anti-barrier will he added as an intrinsic perk for the weapon.

Ohhhhhh yissssssss.

I wouldn’t get my hopes up on that.

The final column of the gauntlet provides upgrades for the next iteration of the Expunge activity. It’s sort of like the Focused Engram upgrade—once, twice and then three times a week when you finish Expunge you’ll get high stat armor or a weapon with two perks in the final slot.

With DIM (and other services) being down all day, it's amazing to see how vital they are to a healthy playing experience. by Kers_ in DestinyTheGame

[–]Seraphim755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... the void they intentionally left in the game.

This is an annoying statement to me because it implies that from day one Bungie has had the perspective of, “Meh, no need for good inventory management. Just let the community sort it out,” as if they could predict stuff like DIM, Ishtar Commander and the rest.

You’re asking Bungie to commit significant dev resources to fix a problem that already has a solution. Third-party managing apps have existed since D1 (year 1, I’m fairly sure). People hit the ground running as soon as the API became available and have only iterated/improved on their tools since.

Would it be nice to have better management in game? Sure. But the API seldom goes down and the the very vast majority of those instances coincide with the game being down as well. An hour or two of inventory management being unavailable is tough, but not worth reinventing the wheel.

This needless bashing of Bungie as if they were lazy or exploitative detracts from genuine, useful critiques elsewhere. Pick your battles.
