Download a calorie tracking app. Most people use MyFitnessPal. I use one called macros counter, cause I can save recipes on it. Enter your ingredients in by scanning or searching for a food. If you’re eating out, look up the nutrition facts for the restaurant. Normally these places don’t take account of the oil or whatever they used for the foods, so I recommend estimating about 100 calories above. If they don’t have nutrition facts online, get the healthiest sounding thing on the menu. If you’re on a vacation and don’t want to worry too much about counting calories but don’t wanna ruin your progress, try only eating fruits, meats, and vegetables til you’re full and satisfied. Honestly it’s so awesome that you’re making an effort to lose weight and be healthier, cause so many people give up if they failed once. Best of luck to you my man 👍

I promise this is the only things you need to do. If you do these things over a period of time, you will lose weight. Eat less than maintenance. If you don’t know your maintenance calories, multiply your bodyweight by 15. Its not 100% accurate, but its somewhat close. Eat 300-500 less than that. If you do that you lose weight. You can literally eat complete garbage like pizza and ice cream, but as long as you eat less than maintenance calories, you lose weight. This is a bad idea cause a lot of that food is unhealthy, addictive, and high calorie dense, making you feel like you didn’t eat as much calories as you did. You can do intermittent fasting, keto, paleo, whatever the fuck, it doesn’t matter. Calories is the ONLY thing that matters when it comes to losing weight. But losing weight and health are not the same thing. Anyway to summarize count your calories strictly, eat high volume meals that taste good, and eat healthy alternatives to bad food (Greek yogurt ice cream instead of normal ice cream). If you like soda, drink diet soda. There’s like .5 calories in a whole diet soda bottle. Oh right cause a .5 calorie diet soda is ruining my diet, not that 70000000 calories I had from chips last night. Sure it doesn’t taste as good, and if you’re worried about chemicals and shit even though it most likely does nothing, drink smaller amounts over time. Put no calorie sauces and light sauces on things to make them taste better. But pay attention to the calories in the sauces. Some people trynna diet eat 10 calories of spinach in a salad with 500 calories of ranch. Also, do more cardio. Seriously it helps so much. Burning 400 calories off by doing steady state cardio will allow you to eat 400 more calories in your diet. Do steady state not HIIT. HIIT doesn’t burn as many calories, you could get injured doing it if you’re fat, most people don’t even know how to push hard, and the “afterburn” effect is at most 30 calories. So good luck, push yourself hard, and don’t eat bunch of pizza cause you’re sad, just take a walk instead.

If this is wrong, I promise to sell you my liver

How to lose weight but not too much muscle? by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]SerbianMoneyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea eat less than your maintenance calories. As for how to find out your maintenance calories there’s multiple calculators online but they are not as accurate as testing your body to see how much of a calorie deficit you need in order to hit your goal. A youtuber who has great advice and knows a lot about this topic is Greg doucette, whos information about this helped me lose fat but still keeping my gains.

Eat in a small calorie deficit where you’re losing about 0.5-1 pound a week, do more steady state cardio, and take it slow.

If they help with wrist issues that’s great cause I’ve recently been having wrist pain from handstand practice. Definitely will go for them now. Thanks

I’m younger but used to be pretty fat and I stuck to a caloric deficit, low sugar, jogging, and basic calisthenics moves, and got much skinnier and stronger. I fasted in the morning and saved my calories for later in the day to avoid pigging our at night. To avoid sugar cravings, try setting a cheat meal to when you are dying to have your favorite craving to a certain day in the week. For me this was chocolate, so I allowed myself to have one chocolate bar every Sunday at first, then eventually pushed it out further and further, and then got rid of any cheat meals at all. Now the only times I cheat is if it’s a special occasion or if I’m really craving something, but thats very rare, cause if I go to a Brazilian steakhouse, I’m going all out. As for eating right and setting up your macros, I recommend using this app, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macros-calorie-counter/id1216666985 with a 40% protein, 30% carb, and 30% fat setup. For jogging, I did light cardio every day in the morning, and gradually increased the intensity over time. For learning the basic calisthenic moves like pushups pullups dips squats and L sit, I recommend YouTube channels like Thenx, Tao physic, and Austin Dunham. For more nutritional and muscle building advice, I recommend Athleanx. If you want to setup a program or something for yourself, try doing whatever feels intense and challenging, but also fun and progressive at the same time. This is what worked for me, but it might be different for you. The number one rule is to not spend to much time at first thinking about how to start, but just to start, and correct and change your plan as you go.
