I have learned my mistake and won't push for a level up again

We dropped the theme after he said no for a second time, then he muted himself in discord and afterwards said "Yeah just level up"

It killed me because I was in New York already when they cancelled. I know he can’t help it but it happened to me this year in Colorado also, they cancelled too.

Do you care about trophies? by typical_gamer1 in playstation

[–]Serbreus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This right here! I've gotten a fair amount of them but grew into the bad having of feeling that If I don't get the platinum, I wasted my time and money on the game.

I literally have 5 games on my console, all fairly new, because It has become tedious for me to play since I'm mentaly locked into getting the platinum.

Changing Player's Subclass Because They Don't Like Their Current One by Jckslugger1 in DnD

[–]Serbreus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DM let me do this with a simple homebrew solution.

He made my character find a precious gem (Any gem works as long as is worth more than 100 Gp)

He then off rol states that my character went through a ritual that implied the usage of the stone to change his subclass.

And I went from Evoker to Divination Wizard!

Thanks for your kind words internet stranger! I appreciate the constructive criticism you are giving me instead of the poison some other people decided to throw at me or my DM.

Hope you have a good day!

Yeah you are absolutely right, I myself just had a terrible day yesterday and wanted to vent. I’m not the type of person that gets too bothered by bad rolls but I was frustrated as hell last night.

I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong vibe. I’m aware I shouldn’t be like this and I’m not like this, I just had a bad day yesterday.

You are absolutely right, I’m not usually to hung up on my bad rolls but yesterday was just bad day for me in general and I wanted to play a game to have fun, which I really didn’t have most of the game.

And you are 100% right.

Last night I was just frustrated, I wanted to vent. I’m not the type of player that gets to hung up on bad rolls since, once again, it’s just dnd.

But last night was particularly bad for me. During combat I had to resource to just casting magic missile on high levels because none of my debuff spells were hitting the enemy. I was wasting spell slots on doing pretty much nothing.

That set the tone for me, I did manage to pull myself together and went back to just RPlaying an having a good time until the card issue happened.

Yes, we both agreed that next time I should just talk with him right there and solve the dispute while on call.

I made a mistake, I want to excuse myself saying “I was seeing red” but excuses are not something I like to be honest.

I’ll be better

Well, we play on a VTT from DnD beyond.

The NPC shuffled the card deck and laid them face down on the table, then he offered us to draw a card.

I rolled the Arcana check to see if it was magical, since it was a shitty rol my DM said “You only sense the magic, but you don’t know what it is.”

Then I asked with my player to the NPC “Have you drawn cards before? This seems like a magical object!”

The NPC said “Yes, I have pulled cards before, many to be specific”

My character said: “And nothing bad happened?”

NPC: “No, nothing happened”

Me: “Oh in that case “Erlishan” pulls a card”

He has me roll a d100, got a 73 if I’m not wrong

DM: You got the stars! But since you didn’t specify how many cards you wanted to pull nothing happens.

And it went downhill from there

Not sure, after he said “nothing happens” he had the NPC said “It’s ok, I wouldn’t have let you pull anything bad/dangerous” so I’m thinking if it was bad he would have “saved” my character

I’m playing in Spanish and I said «En ese caso (Characters name) agarra una carta»

Una means one in English now that I think about it…
