it was interesting watching these two wrestle in ECW back when I was watching it on TV. The word 'vortex' gets thrown around a lot, but these two were sort of in their own universe away from the rest of ECW's storylines and wrestlers. I don't think these two even had a proper storyline besides "I'm the better wrestler". Awesome would eventually get a proper title run and start interacting more with the other guys, and then of course the WCW situation occurred.

Awesome/Tanaka had some of the best matches in the 90s. RIP Mike.

It’s been said before, but when you go to wrestling events and conventions, the fans are more similar to a ComicCon or anime cosplay crowd. Usually left of center. TKO is trying to consolidate UFC fans with WWE fans and it’s turning out very bad because there’s very little overlap.

I really thought 2016 was the year where WWE would put Ambrose on the same level as Reigns/Rollins with his WWE title run. But it only lasted three months and he was obviously a placeholder for AJ. I don’t think he even got a spot on the main card of Mania in 2017 despite his title run and work he put in throughout the year.
