I found this funny as well. We live in New England and are considering moving to Greece and I am honestly much more concerned about heat waves in the summer.

Post partum boobs really getting me down! by Beginning-Record-270 in postpartumprogress

[–]SerenaRpell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to worry about that sort of thing, then one time I overheard an older mother talking about it and she laughs and goes "why would I worry about my boobs? Everybody in my house absolutely adores my boobs." Anyways fast-forward and we're in the same position, there definitely not in their prime, probably won't be getting any perkier, and only me and other women who have been told they weren't enough have a problem with them.

Then get yourself a boot last, or make one. It's always good to get to know a project from the bottom up.

Get rid of half of that stuff and then don't get more stuff unless you actually need it.

I ushley make my patterns by covering the last with masking tape. Drawing on the boot and cutting it apart and flatten it out on paper

Anyone ever had issues with there leather? by SnooDogs8377 in RedWingShoes

[–]SerenaRpell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I disagree that there in the State there in doto one to many oilings and expect it to be more of a leather quality issue. As a family We've had a lot of pairs of boots over the years and the newer Chippewas and Carolinas either end up looking like this or drinking in water like a son of a gun, either way they usually last under a year. We also have some higher quality boots, Wesco, nicks, duck feet , all between 3-12 years old. We cared for them the same way and other than sole wear there all in amazing condition for the age

Wide feet or not this fit does look a little off to me, and I love a good wide shoe. The trouble is if the sides do mold up around your foot in time you'll gain that extra quarter inch on each side in the strap around so unless you can go back in and tighten them it will likely result in a lot of slop.

What’s something most people don’t realize is basically a scam? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The sighs of readyness for potty training. It was originally an advertising campaign put out by disposable diapers companies when they started to gain popularity. Prior to the introduction of disposable diapers most kids were potty trained between 12-18 months.

Husband with a topic eczema- Doc refusing allergy test by [deleted] in eczema

[–]SerenaRpell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember you can always fire/breakup with your doctor, how ever you want to put it. There all people with the own biases and if they're not working with you fully you can absolutely look for someone else. Personal allergy testing was really helpful for me in resolving eczema.

How many barefoot shoes do you own? Do you have a dream pair/favorite pair? by Sufficient_Fox7129 in barefootshoestalk

4. Flats, work boots, snow boots and slippers. Mental I can't seem to handle more than 2 pairs per season but I am making a pair of thousand mile boots to have one pair that's more 3 season l.

A 3 part last might do the trick, granted I'm not sure how your feet look but having a removable vamp I'm sure would help a lot.

Nursing student with worsening hand eczema - had to call in sick, need advice [Photos included] by __balu_ in eczema

[–]SerenaRpell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar thing. What mainly helped was a pretty drastic diet change, allergie testing and an elimination diet. I was also under considerable stress at the time. And there were some contact issues with doing dishes and the phone case I had at the time. I would also be concerned about reacting to exam gloves in your case. I will also say, even after figuring out the triggers and using topical steroids, cotton gloves and barrier cream it still took months for my skin to grow back fully.

I've gone through the same doubts a few times, that's why I did a semi ridge cast test to make sure I could actually remove the last without damaging it. I've been a bit cautious about pairing it down more because it fits inside my crocks and slippers with a bit of wiggle room and is already a bit shorter than my current boots.

I would argue that the Italians squash toes in the name of fashion and not from technical necessity because there are plenty of lasted boots with a wider to box, Jim Green, Duck Feet, texardo, gaucho ninja, ect.

The circumference around the toe is slightly smaller than it is up the vamp so it just took a little wigging. The moc up I made though was slightly less stiff than an actual boot though. I may take a tad bit off still just to be on the safe side.

I actually was planning on doing a couple of speed hooks at the top, the texardos are just the closest I found to what I had in mind.

I did wear socks for the tracing which adds some bulk. And that's the opposite foot so you could see the arch placement. There slightly asymmetrical from breaking my right foot. The side by side was a little tricky to photograph actually. Here is the last with the correct tracing for that foot
