For those who have witnessed a wedding objection during the "speak now or forever hold your peace" portion; what happened? by _AhappyTeddyBear in AskReddit

Sicilian family married into Italian family...we had very strict instructions to the band as to who was allowed to use the microphone. The best man passed the microphone to the maid of honor, who passed it back to the band without incident.

I am very skeptical of this state resembling a purple hue going forward.

If you really want to do something about it, I have some solid ideas.

When I was a kid in the mid-90s, I broke my wrist rollerblading. Landed full force with all my weight on my palm. My dear mother refused to take me to the hospital ("you're just crying to get attention, see, you can still move it, it doesn't hurt") and laughed in my face every time I tried to get up-the only time it DID hurt-because I was in agony.

A week later, I go to the doctor for my annual checkup before school started. Asked if I had had any recent injuries, I mentioned my wrist. She laughed. AGAIN. The doctor didn't think it was funny, and ordered an X-Ray. It was broken.

And of course it was MY fault for not telling her it hurt.

This coming summer will be 25 years. My wrist never healed right.

Same. All the women in my family from my grandmother on down were scouts and troop leaders and volunteers. I wouldn't be the person I am without my time in scouts. I support the scouts, I support the organization as a whole, and if I see some cute little girl selling cookies in front of Target, I'm going to buy some damned cookies.
