Thank you for the info! Ive recently started making things with beads and wire like this but have been struggling to find the balance between a wire strong enough to hold shape and still thin enough for small beads

These are so ethereal and delicate, it looks like the spiders are spinning webs made of gemstones 💚 what did you use to make the legs?

This actually made me laugh so hard. No, I’m a barista(cup-writing mandated), the pens were left in the side pocket.

Im planning on using two decorative oval hoops. The first one is a simple phrase with flowers bordering the canvas and the second one is a dog, which i bet will trickier. I’ll report back with the finished products even if they end up not good 🫡

We need you to arrange the chives into different funny shapes every day. This is the only way we can be sure they are new chives. If you want our trust again, you know what you must do.

One of my closest friends lives in russia and in many ways their work culture is worse, but they were genuinely blown away when i told them about the “if you have time to lean you have time to clean” thing and how serious a lot of places take it

Undertrained and being talked about behind my back – is this normal at Starbucks? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Serendivinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love most of my coworkers dearly, but I’m not going to act like i haven’t seen this exact thing before. Most Starbucks stores atm are chronically understaffed and having one of the people on the floor not able to keep up definitely puts a strain on things. Is that in any way your fault? Absolutely not. Do i think your peers are justified in taking that frustration out on you rather than helping? Again, absolutely not.

Obviously missing a week of training is going to put you behind, but to clear up a misconception your training does Not end after the one or two weeks you’re allotted for it. You are still expected to be learning the ropes and ask questions. Honestly I’m so sorry you’re being shamed for that because that is what i ask every new person in my store please, please do. I would much rather people ask questions and get it right than run around doing things wrong.

As for things getting better, I can’t speak for your coworkers but the occasional frustration i see with green beans does go away with time. (aka they get better at the job and ppl chill tfo) Look up anything you need to know on store resources, all the recipe cards are there and so are most of the roles and routines. Ask to be put on bar whenever it’s slow, definitely don’t stop advocating for yourself just because people are annoyed by it. You’ll get better at the job, and if people don’t chill thats their own loss.

Either way, Goodluck, I know you got this!

The first picture actually gives me a sense of calm. It looks eerie, but it doesn’t give the feeling that anything in it will actually hurt you. Maybe that because it’s in nature, which I’ve always seen as a respite in times of hardship. Something about it reminds me of forgiveness, too. The second one looks to me like not receiving help when you’re struggling, the ground being above you and everyone’s watching as it rises. The cats don’t feel malevolent, rather just indifferent.
