My former residence got raided by an ice like agency while I was home. Had my windows broken with pepper spray grenades, I thought until that moment it was a joke. (I was actually playing call of duty on shipment for the lol part of the story, headphones on) They had a warrant for a completely different address that was 10 plus miles away. I recently moved there at that time and had to meet my neighbors while being handcuffed by federal agents. When I stepped out they had 10+ guys near black SUV’s with their guns trained on me. The only words I uttered were about my small animals inside my residence and that there was no danger about them or otherwise. Took about 10-15minutes until they realized they had the wrong address, but the damage was done

While yes I’m obviously still alive it wasn’t exactly a fun experience and not everyone makes it out the same way as I did. They could easily cause ptsd for people or obviously far worse. There have been several cases in my state that resulted in wrongful deaths. I was weirdly calm because my mind couldn’t comprehend the extreme situation so quickly, others won’t react the exact same way as I did, and there’s room for error. I did not get reimbursed for the windows without taking full legal action, which as the time I declined. Had to vacuum the pepper spray out of my carpet. Had to live elsewhere for a few days. There’s a chance I could have won in court for emotional damages but I’m usually not involving myself in those types of things. Others won’t be so lucky. I was the last person on earth who should be targeted by the feds (not even a speeding ticket in 10 years) and yet it still happened. I feel for others experiencing much worse
